Nothing fires up the school spirit quite like sports. Bring out the school’s best, make them wear the colors, and bring that victory home for a taste of glory! It’s a great way of forging bonds and cementing camaraderie among staff and students.
But while the male athletes represent the school’s physical force, there’s another group that carries the colors loud and proud.
That awesome pom squad!
These are the amazing ladies of Quince Orchard High School. When the athletes go on their halftime break, someone has to make sure the school’s energy stays in the air! The pom squad look fantastic, don’t they?
It’s a red and black attack and their competition had better take notice. It’s hard to win on the field but these ladies are able to bring about another kind of victory.
The stands are packed!
Everybody’s charged and ready to cheer their courageous athletes and dancers. The drums signal the arrival of the football team with a huge banner held high by the cheerleaders which the hyped up athletes run into before taking the grass to Metallica’s, “Enter Sandman“.
The camera shifts to the pom squad lined up in the center of the field. “I gotta’ feeling” from the Black Eyed Peas come on the speakers and the girls raise their left hands one after the other, raising the red pom before transitioning to the right for the silver ones.
It’s definitely a good feeling!
Left to right, silver to red, with beautiful smiles that seem to light up an already bright football field, these ladies have a lot riding on their backs but they power on with style! And that’s what it’s all about!
They do have stunning transitions. The tempo with which they move one after the other surely got people stunned. Look at those jumps and drops. It’s like they’re firecrackers lit in sequence.
No room for error.
The girls form a circle facing the crowd and together, move their poms in a pulsing wave, alternating the angle of the colors in mesmerizing fashion. Listen to the stands cheer them on!
A viewer goes,
“Now that’s what I call a performance! the cheerleaders at my school can’t compare.”
That’s a serious comment right there. Talk about brutally honest.
Kick the competition!
They line up now with arms holding each other, and together, the pom squad release a flurry of kicks before moving towards a quick dip and spin. They drop their poms and begin dancing to Chris Brown’s “Yeah 3x“. Party time!
Talk about a high energy dance! It maybe halftime but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop!
These girls must spend countless hours and days just practicing together. No way are they that good without the time and effort. And they did all that for the love of their school! Everything is fluid without a single dancer missing a step or a beat.
The stands erupt in cheers and applause and you can bet they were fired up for the second half of the game. And how do they show their spirit? A wave! Roll those drums and show your school pride!
