“Mr. Sandman” is a popular song written by Pat Ballard in 1954, and was first performed by Vaughn Monroe and His Orchestra in that same year. The song deals with the fictional character from folklore, the Sandman. It is the Sandman’s job to put people to sleep by sprinkling magical sand into their eyes.

In pitch-perfect tune, the ladies of the quartet started with the familiar melody of “Mr. Sandman.”

Distinct in its sound, the song is easily recognizable from its catchy melody created by the mixture of the different arrangement of voices of the barbershop quartet, including a deeper bass, baritone, and tenors.
