You don’t really get to see police officers on a stage entertaining a crowd.
These men and women are regulars on the streets and other public places looking all serious and sometimes intimidating.
That’s part of their job. So to see them having a great time while performing for an audience is a real treat.
This group of police officers performed at a local high school and everyone loved it!
Two officers start off the act, with one playing a steel guitar while he other strumming an acoustic one.
They tell the crowd to sing along with them before strumming and singing “My Girl” as the cops behind them do a little dance.
The female officers don’t seem impressed as their male colleagues attempt to serenade them though.
The ladies take to the front, hitting a powerful pose to Beyonce’s song “Run the World (Girls)“.
Female cops are sexy and they show it. The ladies throw in some stunning moves getting the crowd cheering for them.
The men, as usual, interrupt the women for a dance of their own. ”
This is a Man’s World” starts to play as some of the guys decided to show off their own set of moves.
Two other male officers had a little number of their own. How about a little hip-hop? Awesome!
Then the Austin East Dancers join them onstage dressed in matching black tops and jeans. This group performed alongside the police officers for a community show.
It’s not men vs. women though. This has become dancers vs. cops!
They join for a fun dance, getting everyone in that crowd cheering and applauding before they split up in to groups, forming lines so each of them can take turns strutting their stuff.
When the dancers and cops dance together, it’s just pure fun.
You’d actually want to join them. And look at their faces! They’re all having a blast!
Once lines are formed, they seem to pair off, one dancer and cop making their way down the center just enjoying the music.
It even looks like they’re trying to outdo each other with the same moves.
It’s like those huge parties where everyone’s just having a great time, then someone starts dancing and everyone else just joins in.
This is the kind of camaraderie people need to see.
Especially with all the negativity some cops have been portraying. Not all of them are bad, in fact, they’re just like all of us. Break the ice ad set fire on that dance floor!
And you know what? Those cops got moves!
Most of us are guilty of thinking that they’re stiff since… well, all that training’s got them to be way tougher than regular people.
But watch these cops move! Knoxville Police Department’s got skills!
It’s a dance off of sorts that’s gotten the community together as a tighter unit. And we’re all for that!
