Have you been keeping up with this season of America’s Got Talent?
If you have been, then you know five episodes have already aired (4th of July was an off week and there was no new episode). But AGT is back next week and we’ll finally get to see Heidi Klum’s Golden Buzzer!
During the previous episodes, with acts like Glennis Grace embodying Whitney Houston, many speculated that Heidi would pick a Golden Buzzer act.
When one of the four the judges (Howie Mandel, Simon Cowell, Mel B, and Heidi) or host (Tyra Banks) picks a Golden Buzzer, it means that act is automatically sent to the live shows.
Otherwise, the acts have to go to the Judges Cuts rounds. Some talented acts can luck out during this round of the show and get a Golden Buzzer from one of the guest judges.
The next episode of AGT is the final Auditions episode and we’ll finally find out who Heidi Klum picked.
However, before this episode airs, Heidi stopped by The Tonight Show to talk with host Jimmy Fallon about her pick.
While on The Tonight Show, Heidi talked about how much fun she has being on America’s Got Talent. She says that she has a great time with the other judges.
She obviously enjoys all of the talented acts that come across the AGT stage, but she even loves the ones that are not so talented! Heidi is a much friendlier and warmer judge than Simon. She’s already been on AGT for six years now.
When she has to tell an act that she just doesn’t think they’ll make the cut, she likes to wrap it up in a bow, because she doesn’t want anyone to go home crying after their audition.
When Jimmy asked if Heidi had used her Golden Buzzer yet this season, she told them that all of the other Golden Buzzer moments had already aired, but not hers. She said that they were saving the best for last!
Heidi was so confident in her choice, she thinks that they are going to win the whole thing! After she said that, Jimmy asked her if he could try to guess the type of act she picked.
He tried to guess and asked if it was a dog – which Heidi shut down pretty quickly. She did slip up and say “this person” so we can assume that means it is a solo act and not a group!
Especially because Heidi went on to even say that if they didn’t win AGT this season, she act least felt that “this person” would still go on to become a superstar. All singular terms!
Now, to compare to last year, the first act that was chosen for Golden Buzzer was the one who went on to win the entire season – Darci Lynne Farmer!
For season 12, Mel B picked Darci Lynne and she quickly became the one to watch, and for good reason. She stole America’s heart!
On this current season, the Golden Buzzer acts so far are the aerial dance group, Zurcaroh, that Tyra Banks picked first. Then a father of six and a mental health professional, Michael Kettering, was chosen by Simon Cowell.
Howie Mandel used his buzzer for Courtney Hadwin, a teenage with the voice a jazz legend. Mel B used her buzzer on a bullied teen, Amanda Mena.
