That's how you make sparks fly.

He’s got a voice that could draw thousands of women to his front door.

But Harry Connick Jr. doesn’t care how many women he attracts.

As far as he’s concerned, he will only sing to one woman for his entire life. And that’s his wife, Jill Goodacre.

Jill was one of Victoria’s Secret’s main models in the eighties and early nineties.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JILLY! this is my favorite day of the year ☺️ looking forward to a LOT more of these, sweet girl ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Harry and Jill met in February of 1990. Sparks!

He admits to thinking that he thought she was “way, way, way out of my league“, but he manned up and went ahead anyway.

The weeding took place back in April 16, 1994 and the two are still very much in love.

Harry says he still gets butterflies whenever he talks about her.

Now how many men would say that after nearly three decades of being together?

On his show, Harry, he introduces a song he wrote for Jill.

Harry only cares about the fact that Jill likes the song.

Similar to how Keith Urban wrote the song “Gemini” for his wife, Nicole Kidman.

Jill loves the song.

The day that Harry came home from recording the song, he asked her to listen to the song.

You’re going to want to turn the volume all the way up for this one!

Jill listened to the recording twelve times!

Harry starts it off on the piano before his band comes in with a slow, sensual melody.

Now that’s very obviously a man’s composition.

Now it’s cool enough that he’s singing it live for his studio audience.

Harry croons casually, looking as handsome as he always does in a suit.

See, this is a song that would capture any woman’s attention.

The first verse goes,

“When I’m walkin… I see you
And I’m wonderin what it must be like to be you
You’re a sunrise, you’re heaven
You’re the reason that God rested on day seven”

Great lyrics. It goes from sweet to making sparks fly real quick too.

But what made this live version better was when Harry addresses the audience saying that it’s even better when he gets to sing it to her.

So the man makes his way to the audience, up a few steps, and there, sitting all sheepish is Jill.

Harry goes down on one knee once more to the audience’s applause and continues singing this time keeping his eyes on his wife.

“Well I’ve flirted… I’ve dated
And I’m thinkin the single ring is overrated
So I’ll loiter and linger
And I’ll try to get a ring around your finger”

Connick Jr. is smooth!

Jill tries to jeep her eyes on her husband but it seems like she’s afraid of melting in front of him so she gives off a few smiles to the camera every now and then.

And when Harry finishes with “you’re one fine, fine thing“, Jill mouths off a “Wow” before leaning in to embrace her romantic husband.

I pity all the husbands at home when the women in the crowd came home that night.

Very smooth, Harry. Impressive.
