We have all seen the famous moment from the movie “Big” where Tom Hanks plays on that life-sized piano in the toy store! People across the world have done their own renditions of it in malls and stores and uploaded the videos for us all to enjoy.

While those versions are all fine, the original has something special.

In the original scene, Tom Hanks is explaining his new toy idea to a company exec when he steps on the piano. What happened next was innocent fun that really did a great job of showing off a kid stuck in a big body.

Who better to give the scene another try than Tom Hanks himself?

If Tom Hanks did the original, it’s only fitting that if there were a remake of the scene, he would be the one to do it! Funny enough, that’s exactly what happened on the Jonathan Ross show a few years ago.

Jonathan Ross had a few guests on his show when he decided to reveal a surprise to them!

While Ross talks to Hanks, he motions to the floor and says that he has hidden something underneath the carpet, like an optical illusion. Hanks chuckles and walks forward to the strange flooring.

When Ross lifts up the carpet, we see exactly what he has planned!

Pulling aside the faux flooring, a huge piano is revealed! When the audience sees the piano, it’s obvious what game Ross is playing at here, and everyone let out a huge cheer! They know what’s coming next.

A few tentative steps later, and the two are on the piano.

Hanks first steps up, probably reliving a lot of old memories in his mind! The movie was released in 1988, 25 years from when they recorded the movie originally. Hanks steps on a few notes, and we hear the first attempts at a song!

Just like the movie, Hanks tries to start the fun with “Heart and Soul.”

The classic duo song is known almost everywhere! People have been performing duets with the hit for as long as the song has been out. In the movie, Hanks does a pretty good job of staying true to the original tune. In this version, he seems to struggle a bit!

It has been some time since he has performed; he deserves a break!

Remembering a piano lesson from 25 years ago is quite the feat! I am surprised that Hanks was even able to remember the part that he did. Thankfully, the audience was gentle with him and laughed kind-heartedly when he messed up.

Next up, Hanks and Ross try Chopsticks.

A quick but easy song, this one should be a bit easier for the two to handle. When they start, they do a pretty solid job of staying in time and using those fast feet to hit all the notes they need. I would give them a good 7/10.

Finally, Sandra Bullock steps up to the plate.

Bullock and Hanks are what the crowd came to see! She seems practiced and even claims she can perform in her heels! With her ego to uphold, the famous duo starts playing. When they get to the final note, Bullock laughs and exclaims, “I am not hitting that last note!” If she did, she might have been on the news for ALL the wrong reasons the next day.
