Jett Williams’ life began with a series of upheavals.
She was born in Montgomery, Alabama just 5 days after her dad’s unexpected death in 1953.
Her biological mom, Bobbie Jett, relinquished her to be adopted by Hank’s mother, Lillie Williams. But this also would not last.
Sadly, Jett became a ward of the state shortly after Lillian’s death only months later.
Unaware of her biological parents’ identity for most of her childhood, Jett was raised by a foster family in Mobile, Alabama.
Even though she didn’t know Hank, she inherited his passion and talent for music.
By the time the 1980s rolled around, Jett had picked up on a few facts and rumors.
This led her on a quest to uncover her heritage. The quest led to Hank Williams.
It was also revealed that he’d made provisions for her well-being before her birth. In 1987, a court officially recognized Jett Williams as Hank’s daughter.
As expected, this reshaped her identity and connected her to a musical legacy that she was born into but never knew.

Jett reveals that Hank never performed this song live with his band, the Drifting Cowboys.
It was released posthumously, rising to fame in a twist of fate when a sleepy DJ in New York played the B-side of a record, leading to overwhelming public demand.
