The wonderful part of technology and social media is that it has leveled the playing field so to speak. One doesn’t have to be a mainstream artist to get noticed. If you’ve got the talent, record yourself and post it on YouTube and other platforms. You WILL get noticed.

Of course people are hard to please and there will always be critics and so called experts. But you do you and people will love and support your talent. A lot of these popular singers made it through social media.

This mother and son act will blow your mind.

Jordan Rabjohn and Katherine Hallam are from Sheffield, UK. He is a singer and songwriter who gets lots of love from his adoring fans but the sweetest part of this is that he always claims that mom is a better singer than he is.

This cover of Leonard Cohen‘s “Hallelujah” should send chills down your spine. If it’s not Jordan’s raspy, rocker voice, it’s Katherine’s surprising display of vocal talent.

Take it away, Mr. Rabjohn!

What a pleasant tone he’s got! It’s light yet powerful, with a bit of gospel rock. You get the feeling that Jordan would perform classic rock songs insanely well. Oh and you can request for covers in the comments section. Just so you know.

Let’s hear it, Katherine!

She takes over the second verse. Not a voice you would expect to hear from a very nice English lady. Maybe it’s the deep, resonating tone or the surprising power she has but one thing is for sure. Katherine is fantastic!

Not once does she miss a key or catch her breath. She goes up and down a few octaves with excellent command. Where’s she been all this time?

Well someone book her for a show!

Katherine is actually Jordan’s booking agent according to Rabjohn’s Facebook page.

This cover was also a request from a fan. Jordan has other covers on his YouTube channel, some solo, others with his mom. Go check out his page and subscribe because they are so worth listening to!

A viewer commented,

“Please do a lot more of these Mom son duets. Every time you post one it makes my day and this one made my week. Life isn’t going well for me but this really makes me feel better thank you.”

That’s the power of music.

How many mother and son duets can you name? You’re forgiven if Jordan and Katherine are the first you know. Jordan is always all praises for his mom’s singing but he’s no slouch!

They sing a few parts together and the results are magic. The harmonizing and blending do wonders for this cover. That’s the trick with renditions. The artist has to add his or her own unique style to it. And it doesn’t always work.

But hallelujah this one works!

There’s a few shots of both mom and son smiling and laughing. It’s too cute! The singing is truly stunning but behind it all are a mother and her son who share the same passion.

Listen to more of Jordan on Spotify and Apple Music. And check out Katherine’s music here and here. You won’t regret anything.
