Whether we realize it or not, we are all looking to connect with fellow human beings. This could be through conversation, music, art, or something else entirely — it doesn’t really matter. What matters the most is the bond we form with one another.
This man was sitting in what seems to be a bar or a restaurant earlier this year, right before Covid-19 caused a global lockdown.
While everyone at this spot is drinking, eating, and hanging out with friends, this man was sitting alone with his guitar. He had a big smile on his face, like he had a trick up his sleeve… And it turns out, he did.
The man began to strum his guitar and it wasn’t long until he revealed himself to be one of the most talented players ever!
He wasn’t just playing any song, either. He was playing the hit 70s song from Saturday Night Fever, the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive.”
You probably already know, but “Stayin’ Alive” is one of the danciest and funkiest songs to date. There is simply no way that you can hold back from dancing when this tune comes on!
So, naturally, the man made a lot of new friends that night.
Before he even started playing his guitar, he began to connect with one woman who was sitting across the way from them. They both had a casual exchange from afar and then he dove right into the song. Right away, he already had a fan.
When he strummed and picked his guitar, he made it look so effortless. It almost seemed as if he wasn’t even trying.
He was just looking up, smiling, and enjoying the nice atmosphere. He never even stoped to think which note or chord was next. The entire performance was so fluid and seamless.
The melody was on point, too. Right away, you could tell exactly what song he was playing. And there’s no way you can hear that song and not feel a ton of joy. Needless to say, it’s exactly what people partying at a restaurant want to listen to. He delivered!
Thankfully, the whole thing was caught on camera and you can see people watching from a distance. As soon as he begins to play, they begin to smile. You can tell they know the song and that they are also so impressed with his playing.
At one point, he gets some claps going from the crowd. When they start to clap on the beat, he gestures toward them. The interaction is so cute, as they both exchange a laugh.
Who doesn’t love making new friends?
Sometimes, he would even stop playing to test the crowd. He’d stop and then look to them, where they would then have to keep singing to keep the song going. They knew exactly which parts to sing, too! They clearly loved how interactive and playful the whole thing was.
The video was only uploaded a few months ago but it has since then gone viral with over four million views and a flood of comments.
And we have to say, the comment section is pretty dang hilarious.
“His mother is a hero. The pain she must have went through giving birth to a baby playing guitar,” one person hilariously commented.
“Those people haven’t got a clue. This guy is a God among peasants,” another said.
“He’s way too cool to be in that place,” one person wrote.
“He’s a guitarist version of Denzel Washington,” another argued.
Hey… We can’t say any of these people are wrong!
“Stayin’ Alive” is a 70s classic, but we think this man did it some serious justice.
He made some great new friends along the way as well.
