Guns N’ Roses is one of the most famous rock bands from the late ’80s and early ’90s… though they still go on tour occasionally to this day.

They’re most famous for their high-energy high-pitched screaming hits like “Welcome to The Jungle” and “Paradise City,” but there’s another song that made them famous: “November Rain.” It’s a little different from their usual style, but the rock ballad stole the hearts of many.

As it turns out, some incredibly talented Israeli artists have taken the old rock classic and covered it by using a soft acoustic guitar and piano.

Yurval Salomon started learning piano in 2005, and rose to internet fame quickly when she launched her YouTube channel.

She is just 22 years old but has already gathered 200,000 subscribers. In this video, she called on fellow musician Kfir Ochaion to accompany her on guitar.

The cover is purely instrumental, but the feelings behind Axl Roses’ original song remain:

Arguably, this subdued version is actually more suited to the heartbroken lyrics;

So if you want to love me
Then darlin’ don’t refrain
Or I’ll just end up walkin’
In the cold November rain

Axl Rose once explained that the song is about not “wanting to be in a state of having to deal with unrequited love.” A pain I think we’ve all been familiar with at some point or another!

Their rendition starts off slow and softly, but is still instantly recognizable as the Guns N’ Roses rock classic.

The video zooms in on Yuval’s hands as they play, showing off her incredible skill.

Somehow, this awesome pair have managed to turn a rock song into a lullaby… I’m almost ready for a cozy nap!

We get a nice close up of Kfir’s guitar skills too, as the camera falls away from Yuval and focuses on him and his instrument.

Slash (of Guns N’ Roses) is widely recognized as one of the best guitar players in the world. So for any guitar player looking to cover one of his songs, it’s a big name to live up to!

Even so, Kfir seems to strum and pick his way through the song effortlessly.

He does a lot of guitar lessons virtually—and offers downloadable music sheets for all of the covers he performs.

His version of the iconic guitar solo is mesmerizing and works perfectly alongside the piano.

The solo, originally done by Slash, is included on virtually every list of top guitar solos of all time, and is one of the longest ever recorded.

To be fair, “November Rain” is one of the longest rock songs ever recorded, so it makes sense that the solo would break some records too.

Guns N’ Roses released “November Rain” in 1991, but Axl Rose actually wrote the original piano version about a decade earlier.

If you thought the nine-minute radio version was long, you’ll be surprised to hear the original version was 25 minutes! I can’t imagine the radio cut being any shorter than it is though. All the build-up,the extensive intro and the guitar solos are key to what makes it so legendary in the rock music scene.

Covering such an iconic and well-loved rock song with a mellow acoustic guitar and piano can be risky, but Yuval Salomon and Kfir Ochaion pull it off beautifully.

These two artists have worked together in the past to cover other classic tunes, and it seems like they were made to play side by side.

They both take requests so if you think you know the perfect song to suit their cover style, let them know!
