The Aggie Wranglers aren’t just any college country-western dance team – they’re so “High Flyin’, Death Defyin'” that they even have their own building on the campus of Texas A&M University.
While their public performances are epic, you should see what it looks like when an Aggie Wrangler gets married and wants to put on a show at their wedding!
Putting on a show
In a video with over 2 million views on YouTube, we got to peek into the reception of a Wrangler who decided to put on quite a show during the traditional garter toss.
In this case, it’s The Greatest Garter toss, since it’s set to the title track from The Greatest Showman, a film based on the life of circus ringleader P.T. Barnum.
That explains the groom’s hat!
While our first glance is of the groom, we soon see that he’s lined up behind his beautiful bride.
We’re clearly about to see a mix of wrangling and glamour.
Making an entrance
The bride doesn’t do much during the garter toss, so we know there must be more to this performance as the music begins.
She remains seated and pleasantly surprised as the groomsmen come marching into the shot.
Then, groomsmen march in from both sides, with the groom in tow. Frankly, we’re just as excited as she is to see how this goes down!
Things move a bit slowly at first as the men march to different corners and the groom beams back at his bride.
They’re obviously setting the stage for something special.
It’s time to get this show on the road.
First, a cane flies out of nowhere and the groom snaps it out of the air, much to the delight of his new wife.
Things get suspenseful after some fancy cane-flipping action.
Next, the groomsmen circle the bride once more – and we’d love to know what she’s thinking!
The Greatest Garter Toss
After passing off the tophat to his bride, the groom finally goes for the garter.
And we’re not sure why, but all of the groomsmen seem to be suddenly chugging beers! But the bride hardly notices – all her attention is on her man.
There’s a bit of a risque moment that follows as the groom goes to get the garter, but our eyes are on the bride’s gold sneakers! How cute are those?
After a day of being at the center of attention, we’re glad to see she’s looking out for her comfort (including losing that garter!).
Catch it if you can
Finally, it’s off! And we all know what comes next – the toss.
The blushing bride leaves the stage as the male guests gather on the dance floor to see who will catch the lucky garter.
Not everyone loves the garter toss tradition – in fact, it can be kind of awkward for everyone involved. These days, many brides and grooms skip the flinging of lingerie into the crowd. Then again, not all garter tosses are as entertaining as this one.
