The instructions around the world are clear. Stay at home. While the Coronavirus is a controlling force in the world, it’s important that we hunker down, limit contact with other people and self-isolate. This can mean that finding our usual streams of entertainment, exercise and contact with the outside world can be a little challenging. Sometimes, to stay active you just have to be a little creative.
Creative…or opportunistic.
But some seem to be doing just fine!
For instance, these adorable grandparents who get off the couch to dance like they’re on a stage of their own. And boy do they get jiggy with it! With admirable enthusiasm these grandparents put most quarantiners to shame.
There’s no sitting around and twiddling thumbs with these two, they’re going to show us how to do quarantine right.
They’re dancing to modern rock legend Adam Lambert.
After being the runner up for the 2009 season of American Idol, Lambert has only risen in success and fame. Notably, Adam Lambert has succeeded the late Freddie Mercury as the lead vocalist of the legendary rock band Queen. He tours with the band, as as well as for his own solo albums.
He’s a unique force in the music industry, and apparently he can make time in isolation that much more pleasant.
These cuties know how to jive!
With amazing enthusiasm these grandparents stay active and enjoy themselves to the fullest. The elderly are at a particularly high risk for the virus, so it’s especially important to make sure that they’re safe and stay at home.
But…that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. In fact, fun is anywhere you can find it.
Grandad isn’t afraid to do some stepping either!
Part dance-off, part aerobics routine, you can see that these adorable people just love to keep moving. Either that, or they just love Adam Lambert’s song “Superpower” so much that they have no choice but to jump up and break out those moves. I’m guessing it’s a little bit of both, going off of how they seem to adore Lambert’s performance.
Grandma however, has a fiery passion for movement.
Grandma is giving me LIFE with her soulful moves. She seems lost in the music, and is simply vibing, feeling the power of Adam Lambert.
Aren’t they just having so much fun?
If social media is anything to be believed (debatable), most people are spending their days in isolation just watching Netflix, snacking and playing video games.
Not these two! They’re happy to have their own private Adam Lambert dance party.
We may do well to take a leaf out of their book.
The lesson that we can take away from these enthusiastic geriatric movers and shakers is that rather than feeling locked up and frustrated, we might as well enjoy ourselves. Not only that, but to move around and stay active does wonders not just for our bodies, but for our minds.
So get up! Release those endorphins! Sing along to Adam Lambert!
