It may actually be even more important for them to keep active in order to live a long, and happier, life.

There are many different ways people get their exercise; swimming, running/walking, a gym membership.

But one of the easiest, and arguably most fun ways, is to dance.

From Jazzercise to Zumba, there are many different forms of dancing workouts that people of all ages can do.

For these 9 women who all live together in a retirement community, dancing to the songs from their youth is what gets them up and moving.

In a special performance hosted in front of their families, and other building residents, these women break it down to the ‘Lollipop’ song.

First released in 1950 by ‘The Chordettes’, the ‘Lollipop’ song is something almost everyone knows.

With its upbeat tempo and fun lyrics, it is the perfect song to dance to.

And dance these women did, swaying their hips and making turns along with the beat, and giving a loud clap during the infamous ‘Lollipop’ popping sound.

The woman all seemed to be enjoying themselves as they danced along to the tune.

There are tons of benefits to using dance as a form of exercise.

From increasing strength and endurance, to helping improve cardiovascular health, dancing is a fun and easy way to work out without actually feeling like you are working out.

Some of the non-physical health-related reasons are just as, if not even more important.

Dancing with friends is known to improve self-esteem and confidence.

It also leads to a better social life.

Getting out for practices and performances might sometimes be the only interaction some of these people have throughout their days.

The video clip of the women has been viewed over 170 thousand times with well over a thousand likes.

The viewers range from the young to the old, all expressing their love of the ladies and their dancing.

“I love and admire these beautiful ladies,” said one commenter, “giving their best effort to create a lovely dance.”

Another commenter who is 78 years old, stated that they would love to live in such a vibrant and fun community.

“The one with the flag on is a vibe.” wrote one person, singling out one of the older ladies as being very involved with the dance and really showing her best effort.

Comments came in from all over the world on this video; from America to England, Russia to Brazil, everyone loved watching these women boogie.

By looking at the Youtube page of the retirement community, Terraces of Chico, it is clear that dancing is a big part of this community.

They have videos of their residents dancing to Christmas and Easter music, as well as Hula dancing and attempting high kicks like the ‘Rockettes’.

These ladies clearly know how to move and you can see the joy radiating off their faces as they perform in front of their adoring fans.
