Gordo from Dubbo, Australia isn’t your typical drummer.

Sure, he grew up playing the instrument and performs with musical groups – but he also has a unique skill that you don’t see every day. When Gordo’s out on the street busking he doesn’t need to bring any fancy instruments or equipment. Amazingly, he’s a bucket drummer.

In a world of extraordinary instruments, sometimes all a man needs is one…bucket.

Gordo became intrigued by bucket drumming as a teenager in high school and decided to pursue the unusual art. He already played the drums, but it was different and also had another draw to it.

He told Australia’s The Morning Show:

“I saw a video online of a guy in America playing the buckets. I was a scrawny little kid, and this guy had massive arms, so I thought, maybe if I play the buckets I can get big.”

Ready to be amazed?

There are some really fascinating instruments out there that produce captivating music. But not just extravagant ones – traditional instruments such as the pan flute and the didgeridoo are intriguing to the ears as well. While a bucket may not be “traditional,” you may be surprised how incredible one can sound when played.
