If you said you didn’t know anyone who could play the guitar or the piano then you would be lying. These are two of the most popular instruments that most people would want to learn how to play. It’s an awesome skill to have and music does have its mysterious power over us. Even animals enjoy music and there are many videos out there that prove this.

While the guitar and piano have produced memorable and unforgettable songs, it is even more special when those songs are done on unique instruments. Instruments such as the kalimba.
The Kalimba is just a version of over 100 different types of traditional African thumb pianos. It was a man named Hugh Tracy in 1954 who shipped his favorite version around the world.
The first Kalimbas were believed to have been made about 3000 years ago in West Africa.
It’s ancient and exotic and really cool to play. It sounds amazing too! This adorable Golden Retriever loves it especially to the classic Elvis Presley song, “I can’t help falling in love with you”. And who wouldn’t?

There are Kalimbas for everyone too. There are ones with four tines and it’s perfect for beginners and kids. There are bamboo tined and metal tined ones and for each tribe and region, a different version was produced. There’s a Kalimba for everyone and the best part is they are so portable as compared to other modern instruments.
We have Africa to thank for this gem of an instrument.

Even his dog appreciates his talents as he approaches him for a snuggle and some love after the song ends. It’s a quicj version of the song and we cvan’t help but wonder if the dog actually wanted more.
