One of winter’s favorite sports is ice skating. Whether on a state, national, or international level, skaters are amazingly fun to watch. Although in competitions they’re all incredibly good, there’s always those that stand out. That’s what happened when a group of girls in red skated out on the rink.
Meet the Skyliners
That’s the name of a group of girl ice skaters. In 2017 at the Junior World Team Event, they wowed the audience. As a synchronized performance, they had to nail every move. And they did.
The video went viral
As with a lot of skating competitions, it’s common for a professional to videotape it. And that’s what happened at this event. After uploading the video to social media, it quickly went viral. So far, it’s garnered more than 64,000 views and hundreds upon hundreds of comments.
Perfection from the beginning
After stretching their arms out, the young ladies went into their first move. As expected, it was flawless. Every part of their bodies was in perfect alignment. They hadn’t even done anything overly spectacular at that point yet the audience was already cheering loudly.
Floating on air
That’s what it looked like. Every turn and movement were fluid. Although you can hear the swish of their skates, at this point, the audience sits quietly. It’s as though they’re afraid to breathe.
Unbelievably talented
If you’ve ever watched synchronized swimming, then you get the gest of this performance. The difference is these girls are on ice. You’d think that would be far more difficult but somehow, they make it seem easy.
The setup
But what they did in the first part of the video was nothing more than the setup. In other words, they skated their way around the rink in preparation for starting the actual routine. If they’re that good just getting positioned, the crowd could only imagine what was yet to come.
The show begins
They started skating to the song “The Kiss.” Along with the synchronized moves, they spun one another around on the ice. That shows that not only are they talented ice skaters but also strong and disciplined athletes.
Beautiful lifts
Typically, it’s men who lift women in ice skating. But in this case, the women gracefully hoisted one of the skaters in the air. She then gently landed back on the ice. That moment alone was breathtaking. The audience couldn’t hold back as they let out a loud cheer.
Simply stunning
These girls then wove between each other before ending up in perfect lines. That prompted even more noise from the audience. Throughout the routine, the music changed. And in response to each new song, the ladies performed even more impressive moves.
Almost unimaginable
These ice skaters were so captivating that it’s hard to imagine anyone could accomplish what they did. Although the routine didn’t consist of jumps as often seen in single and pair skating, they didn’t need them. Between the turns, twists, lines, and even backflips, it was a complete performance that thrilled everyone watching.
Impeccable
That’s perhaps the best way to describe these ice skaters. From start to finish, they eloquently entertained. As the routine nears the end, the crowd’s cheering becomes nonstop. This was such a mesmerizing performance.
