It all started with a run for student body president. After all, you have to be creative to catch the attention of the student body.
Some students accomplish this with catchy slogans or colorful slogans. Others opt for a more creative approach by putting on a darling performance for their peers.
Walker had already charmed fellow students with his thoughtful speeches and outlined the ways he’d improve their lives.
He had painstakingly drawn dozens of giant posters to hang around the halls, encourage everyone to make him their first choice.
Now, Walker was giving a speech to his peers in the hopes of becoming Student Body President.
To help sway the students to vote for him, Walker enlisted his sister, Ashlin, and her two friends, introducing them to the crowd.
Their show of support comes in the form of hilariously large hats and wicked dance moves.
In a video captured by a member of the assembly, Walker gives a short speech, telling his fellow students that “actions speak louder than words”. With that, three figures take the floor for a performance not soon to be forgotten.
As the song “Elvira” by The Oak Ridge Boys filled the auditorium, the girls performed a very well-coordinated dance routine.
First, their oversized hats drew the crowd’s attention. Then, their slick dance moves and speedy legs take it away.
The girls perform synchronized kicks to the beat of the music.
Then, about one minute into the video, the girls do a signature dance move that takes the cake! You’ll have to see the video for yourself to see what we mean.
The giant hats make the girls’ look especially miniature, adding hilarity to their synchronized steps. The song’s already fun to listen to but watching the girls’ added moves make it a total blast. They make little errors during the performance (which isn’t surprising considering the giant hats), but the mistakes just add to the hilarity, cracking everyone up.
Finally, in the best show of support, the girls’ hats spell out Walker all together – all to remind the student body to vote for Walker for student government.
In the end, their efforts proved successful! Walker ended up winning Student Body President!
It turns out the people so appreciate it when you put on a good show.
All you need to do the same is buy a bunch of project boards and roll them up and you can have your very own giant hat.
Since the video was posted, it’s been viewed over 2 million times with commenters calling it “One of the cutest line dances I’ve ever seen.”
It was posted by Boys and Girls Hairstyles and it turns out that Ashlin is one of their models. They confirmed that the performance was a success once the video went viral.
“Her brother Walker was running for Student Body President and he ended up winning!! YEAH!!!!”
