Fleetwood Mac’s 1977 album Rumours is hitting the charts yet again. Of course, that’s partly because it’s one of the greatest albums of all time. But a TikTok user named Nathan Apodaca – known on social media as 420doggface208 – deserves some credit as well.
In late September he posted a video of himself skateboarding while drinking a large bottle of Ocean Spray Cran-Raspberry juice to Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams.”

And since the Internet is a strange and often inexplicable place, the video went viral AND caught the eye of Mick Fleetwood. Then everyone apparently downloaded a copy of Rumours.
New Dreams
Nashville singer Lanie Gardner wasn’t even born when “Dreams” was a hit. But that didn’t stop her from posting a truly show-stopping cover of the song to her YouTube channel.
First, she gave a shout-out to Apodaca by taking a swig of Ocean Spray cranberry juice.
Posted on October 2, 2020, within 2 weeks it had already garnered over 1.2 million views (and counting) on her YouTube channel alone – a truly viral hit. Her number of subscribers jumped up wildly as well nearly overnight.

She explains in her YouTube bio:
“Lanie’s jaw-dropping cover of “Dreams” by Fleetwood Mac went viral on TikTok in October 2020 and caught the attention of Mick Fleetwood himself, Kevin Jonas Sr (father of the Jonas Brothers), and more. Within five days of the video going viral, Lanie’s TikTok account gained over 140,000 new followers and over 7.5 million video views. Lanie’s TikTok success also crossed over to her other social media platforms, where she gained 7M+ Facebook views on the “Dreams” cover, over 700,000 total views on her YouTube videos, and over 200,000 new social media followers.”
She describes herself as an “emerging alternative pop artist” who “skillfully mixes the styles of Post Malone, Kehlani, and Masego with her Classic Rock and Country roots.”

Gardner began singing at age 4 and writing her own songs at age 12, but it’s her cover of “Dreams” that many people will remember. And it single-handedly launched her to stardom.
“This is the most beautiful cover to any song i’ve ever heard in my whole entire life,” said one commenter.
And the compliments just kept coming.
The next Stevie Nicks?
Stevie Nicks has one of the most iconic voices in music history, but Garder does a darn good impression.
But Gardner is clearly appealing to Fleetwood Mac fans as well as helping to create new ones.
“I’m 63 years music is my lively hood. Do you know how the saying goes laughter is the best medicine I prefer to say Music and laughter is the best medicine. I had not heard of Lanie Gardner until just now I totally totally forgot about everything while listening to her sing dream she is awesome!!!! Forwarded to my 11-year-old granddaughter and she loved it!!!” said a YouTube viewer.
We’re just happy to hear this classic over the airwaves again, whether it’s this spectacular cover or the iconic Stevie Nicks original.
