A lot of people have hidden talents that they never get to show off or maybe don’t even realize they possess.
Some people simply don’t like to be in the spotlight and have a hard time performing in front of groups of people. One girl proved that you shouldn’t hide an amazing talent if you have one or be afraid to show people what you can do.
A teenaged girl recently surprised everyone at her school and maybe even herself when she performed a song at her school’s open mic night. Students were invited to sing and show off their musical talents. Many of them chose to sin their favorite songs and didn’t hesitate to walk up on stage and belt out some notes. Not everyone was so brave, though.
Many kids stayed silent in the audience.
Some clapped in support of their classmates, and others simply passed the time by staring at their phones or talking with their friends. There were even a few kids who really wanted to be up on stage singing but couldn’t work up the courage to do it. One teenage girl who was among the crowd was anxious to perform, but also nervous about what people would think.
She took the stage and warned the crowd that she couldn’t sing. Some people held their ears, others laughed, and some just rolled their eyes. Why would anyone who was willing to admit that they couldn’t sing attempt to do so in front of a crowd? The girl explained that she was more interested in playing the piano, and as the crowd settled down, she started to play and then sing.
As soon as she hit the first few notes, jaws dropped.
People stopped talking, looked up from their phones, and took their hands down from their ears. Her voice as simply amazing, and while she was good at playing the piano, too, it was obviously her voice that made her a star. She sang one of her favorite songs, and then the audience applauded her.
Her story could have ended there, but luckily, her performance was recorded. Someone shared the video of her singing on social media, and it got over 2 million hits. People online were just as impressed as her classmates, and everyone wanted to know who she was. Even a casting agent found her video and asked the public to help her find contact information for the singer.
“What’s her name? I would love to speak with her and her parents about the tv show I’m casting.”
Although the teen is clearly talented, she also seems to be a little shy.
Maybe she doesn’t want to be found and has no interest in being on a television show. Then again, if someone was able to help this girl embrace her musical abilities and grow, she could be the next big star. What started as a nervous performance in a school auditorium could end up changing her life. Who could pass that up?
The more the video has been shared, the more chances there are that someone will notice her.
Maybe one of her classmates or family members will see it and speak up. Maybe the teen will see it herself. How many more talented young people are out in the world just waiting to be discovered? Maybe some of them have been inspired by this girl and will be more willing to share their talents with the world.
