If your taste in music knows no limit and you’re drawn to distinct vocals, then you most probably have an appreciation for Journey and frontman Steve Perry’s powerful voice.

The band rose to fame between the late 70s and late 80s, offering one incredible song after another.

But it was their song “Don’t Stop Believin'” that became a crowd favorite, and to this day, even folks born in the 90s and 2000s know and love the classic hit.

As you’ll see in the performance below – some kids are big fans of it too!

The song was even featured on the hit TV series “Glee” and movies like “View From The Top,” “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs,” and “The Losers.”

That’s how iconic the empowering song is.

It fits across various movie genres and TV shows and makes for one awesome LSS.

“Don’t Stop Believin'” was inspired by the encouragement of keyboardist Jonathan Cain’s dad.

When the aspiring musician was struggling to find his break in the music industry, he sought advice from his dad, who talked him out of giving up on his dream.

His exact words, as quoted by Jonathan in an interview with Song Facts, were, “Stay the course. We have a vision. It’s gonna happen. Don’t stop believin’.”

The song was made with dreamers in mind, and it all tied together during one of the band’s rehearsals.

Steve Perry had asked Jonathan to describe his idea for the song.

“I described the menagerie of people who would show up on a Friday night. All the dreamers that had dreams to become actors. Producers, artists, lawyers, anything.”

And with everyone pitching in to develop the sound and put together the lyrics, the hit song was born.

It’s a top pick for singing competitions and talent shows, too.

8-year-old Avery, for one, took this song and made it hers through this impressive rendition.

The beautiful, blonde little girl walked to the center of the stage to take her place with the confidence of a seasoned singer.

Her stance, smile, and calm demeanor show that she was born to perform.

As she moved and sang, the audience clapped along to the beat, and a few whistles and cheers could be heard in the background.

Even when Avery reached the tougher parts of the song, she kept her cool and to no surprise, nailed the high notes.
