It’s always fun to attend weddings, especially during the main program. We get to see different performances and heartwarming exchanges of messages.

This particular wedding was really fun!

The program was filled with surprises and treat. They hired a live Irish band to kick out the jams. And then there’s a little nine-year-old who knows a thing or two about Irish dancing. Bring it all together and they raise the excitement level to heights very few receptions ever dare to climb.

If you’re into Irish music and Celtic Rock, and you’re from the east coast then you need to know about the Paul Moore Band.

They tour extensively, except right now they’ve been sidelined like the rest of us due to Covid-19. The band is the face of Irish Weekend in North Wildwood, New Jersey.

Diane and Steve were so right for choosing Paul Moore Band to perform at their wedding.

The wedding program was amazing and remarkable.

Paul Moore put the band together after parting ways as the frontman for the Irish Rock recording artists, Blackthorn. His wife told him he should start a new band and put his name on it.

“My wife told me that if I’m in another band, I should put my name in it so they can’t kick me out,’ Moore jokingly told the Northeast Times. “She’s smart.”

The unforgettable moment began as soon as the amazing band started to perform.

They played classic Irish Folk music. Paul Moore tells the guests to put their hands together, as the band strums the fast-paced rhythm of “I’ll Tell Me Ma.”

The song has been recorded multiple times, and it’s a much-loved song for children. Sometimes known as “The Belle of Belfast City,” the lyrics can change to call out your own hometown.

The opening verse goes like this …
“I’ll tell me ma, when I get home,
The boys won’t leave the girls alone,
Pulled me hair, and stole my comb,
But that’s alright, till I go home.”

Now if you’re gonna have the legendary wedding reception, you can’t just have a live band. Sure it is a step above having your twelve-year-old nephew controlling an iPod, but in order to be the stuff of legend, you gotta have some kind of edge.

A nine-year-old girl brightens up the mood more when she goes to the dancefloor and shows what she’s got.

She’s primed and ready. She has her formal dress on, and she has the proper shoes for this dance. She’s practiced and she’s poised.

She isn’t hesitant to show everyone that she can own the dancefloor.

The ringbearer in the black suit is getting so amped up. He wants so badly to join in and tear up the dance floor.

Looks like he is enjoying the dance, too.

At a high point in the song, Paul Moore does what he does best, encouraging folks to have the time of their lives tonight. He yells into the mic, “Who’s gonna join her out there? Now come on!”

The adorable ring bearer joins in.

He even made sure if he’s allowed to and looks back at Paul Moore as if to say, “Are you for real? We can join her on the dance floor!”

The collaboration of these talented kids made everyone happier.

And it may have taken her a moment to get out there, I mean she’s 85 years old, but the groom’s grandmother hotfoots it to the song. I’m telling you this reception was epic.

The band reaches new heights as the little girl kicks and stomps along to the music. The wedding guests are getting jazzed up as they weren’t even ready for this.

The band rises into the chorus …
“She is handsome, she is pretty,
She is the belle of Belfast city,
She is a-courting one, two, three,
Pray, can you tell me who is she?”

This wedding was fun. It’s proof that happy weddings don’t only exist in movies. As long as the guests are game to have fun and willing to make the bride and the groom happy, the wedding would always be a blast.
