One of the most amazing things about little kids is how unpredictable they can be. Sometimes, they can seem totally confident, ready to do anything without a care in the world. Other times, they seem absolutely bamboozled by everything around them.
In the clip below, we see two kids showing both of these extremes!
One of them, the girl, is assured and confident as she takes to the stage with her dance partner, while the other, a little boy, seems to have forgotten almost every single step he rehearsed.
The video was filmed in Russia, showing the two very young dancers dressed up in sailor outfits and performing an adorable little dance to the classic Russian tune, ‘ты морячка я моряк’ by Oleg Gazmanov.
The title roughly translates to “You’re a Sailor Girl, I’m a Sailor” and the lyrics are all about oceans, seas, ports, and sailing, so that helps to explain why the little munchkins are dressed up in this way.
They begin their routine standing at opposite ends of the stage, facing each other, and we can see right from the start that the young girl looks more confident and assured than her male partner.
The routine gets off to a good start as the kids march towards each other and start to dance side by side. The boy marches on the spot while the girl swings her skirt from side to side.
Then, they embrace and lift their legs in a super cute moment, but that’s when the boy starts to lose it.
Suddenly, it seems like his brain has a 404 error, and he just forgets whatever he was supposed to be doing!
The boy freezes on the spot while the girl continues to dance, doing the best she can do to keep the performance alive.
Noticing that her partner has frozen, the girl doesn’t give up! In fact, at several points, she reaches out to the boy, wraps her arms around him, and moves him around the stage into the right positions for their routine to continue!
Then, when the chorus kicks in, she takes control once again, grabbing his arms and spinning around in a circle.
Slowly but surely, the boy begins to start moving again, and the girl even tries giving him a kiss and a hug to get him back in the groove.
By the end of the show, the boy has finally gotten his confidence back, and it’s all thanks to the girl!
They end the dance in style, marching across the stage together, dancing side by side one final time, and waving to one another as the song reaches its conclusion.
The adorable clip has already been enjoyed by more than 3 million people!
