We all like to sing from time to time, but we’re not all blessed with the best voices.

Some of us should probably stick to singing in private, where nobody needs to hear us, but others have wonderful singing voices that simply demand to be shared with the world!

Lauren Spencer-Smith has one of those voices, and the 16-year-old Canadian teen showed it off in style in this wonderful video.

In the clip, Lauren is simply sitting in the car, riding along with her mom.

She introduces the video, announcing that she’s planning on releasing a live album later in the year, before treating us all to one of the songs set to feature on that album: ‘Someone You Loved’ by Lewis Capaldi.

From that moment, the piano melody begins to play and Lauren prepares to blow us all away with her magical voice.

The song is all about someone who lost their lover. It’s quite a sad and emotional track, requiring a truly special kind of performer to capture and convey its essence and meaning. That’s exactly what Lauren manages to do!

Right from the very first line, ‘I’m going under and this time I fear there’s no one to save me’, Lauren wows us all with her singing talents.

Her voice is simply sublime, putting raw feeling and power into every single word she sings.

She starts off quite quietly and subtly, but when the chorus hits and she starts singing the lines ‘Now the day bleeds / Into nightfall / And you’re not here / To get me through it all’ Lauren shows off the full force of her voice, giving her mom a front row seat at a performance we’d all love to attend!

She sings so beautifully, from the first moment of the song right to the end, and it’s no surprise that with a voice like that, she recently made it to the Top 20 on American Idol!

Sadly, the Nanaimo teen didn’t quite make it to the final 10, but she earned a lot of fans on the show, with tens of thousands of new followers on sites like Instagram and YouTube. She’s also announced that she has plenty of plans in place for more albums, songs, and live performances for her followers in the months and years ahead.

With a voice like that, I’d never shut up.

If I was this mom, I’d be in tears being able to have such a talented child

I wanna ask her mom what it’s like to drive with an angel in the car
