One of the best things about children is that they’re not bothered by who’s watching them.
If they want to dance, they just start dancing wherever they are—and that was definitely the case with this video!
This little girl in the Netherlands acted upon her wishes to throw in choreography when she heard a busker performing in the street.
Dressed in a red coat with curly hair and an obvious love for the music, this little girl was clearly impressed by the busker’s guitar playing. She couldn’t separate herself from his catchy sound, and she slowly gave in to the rhythm.
The video was filmed in November 2020, and it has already garnered more than 30,000 YouTube views.
The streets of Nijmegen in the Netherlands were a lot happier that day! If the whole world is a stage, she’s definitely acting accordingly—even though she’s too small to know exactly what that means.
If more people were like this little girl, the world would be a more cheerful place.
For the busker’s part, Borja Catanesi is originally from Valencia but decided to travel all over Europe and play guitar in the streets until he collects enough money to record his first album. Borja’s promising musical career began when he was only five years old. He played the piano but quickly switched to guitar playing because it made him happier.
He says that he’s been passionate about sharing his music “since forever,” and he went out busking for the first time when he was only 17.
In 2015, Borja won the street musicians’ competition “Feeling The Street.”
It was an international competition held by Toyota, and the prize was a tour through New Zealand.
Catanesi, of course, jumped on such an awesome opportunity and spent a year traveling around.
He’s also performed in numerous European countries including Italy, Spain, France, Germany and Austria. That’s when he completely fell in love with traveling, and he’s been doing it ever since.
At one point, the girl’s curiosity takes over and she begins to mess with Borja’s looping station.
Her mom eventually has to intervene and move her away from the busker’s equipment. Even so, she couldn’t stop her from dancing the entire time!
Here’s the cute choreography for anyone who wants to follow along at home.
First, pretend to almost do a squat, but don’t do it. Repeat that a lot—a lot! Then switch to twisting around. Finally, start running. It’s not that hard, and with a little practice, maybe you’ll be just good as our little dancer!
Those who watch many online performances may remember Borja from another video, where he also inspired a senior to drop the cane and dance.
With his combination of funk, reggae and blues, it’s clear that Borja can’t go wrong. Interestingly, whenever Borja plays funk, someone around him is ready to dance.
Remember the video where a classy, old fellow has shown us what he’s got? That was Borja playing the guitar.
Borja is followed by a quarter a million people on Instagram, and he’s got 13,000 subscribers on YouTube. Well done Borja, you’re fantastic! Good luck with your album—we can’t wait to write a story about it when it’s done.
