The swing era was the period when the big band swing music was the most popular in the United States.

It lasted a little more than a decade, from 1933 to 1947. Those were the years when Roosevelt became 32nd President, Life Magazine published its first issue, the polaroid camera was invented, Casablanca was released and Carousel opened on Broadway.

Still, of all those things, swing dance is still relevant!

Swing dance was developed alongside the swing style of jazz music.

The term “swing” refers to a group of dances.

There were hundreds of different dances and their variations, but only a few have survived to this day—including the Lindy Hop, Balboa, Collegiate Shag, and Charleston. Swing dance had many derivatives during the ’40s and ’50s, but luckily they all have a common ground. A fast rhythm, classy dress code and a lot of footwork.

That’s what you’ll see among swing dancers, and we love every bit of it.

Speaking of dancing, have you heard of the annual “Rock That Swing” festival?

It’s been going on for more than a decade. Every year, swing dancers from all around the world gather in Munich, Germany to show off some impressive choreographies. It is held at the Deutsches Theater.

Seeing so many phenomenal dancers on stage, it’s hard to decide which way to look because everyone does such a great job!

There’s even more information about the big show on the event’s official website where you’ll find the latest info.

The song they dance to is “Killer Boogie,” a 1973 single by Dutch pianist Jan Rietman.

As soon as the host announced the interesting crew, everyone appears on the podium in the blink of an eye.

The group is composed of many people, including children, older people, men and women.

Everyone’s ready for some action. It’s nice to see that the music can bring so many people together, and the choreography is energetic and fresh. Two of the main dancers are in the front row smiling at the audience, and the audience gratefully cheers them all on.

What we loved the most is how everyone jumps up in perfect timing as soon as they hear glissando on the piano. We also enjoyed seeing so many people having a blast.

These dancers definitely know how to make this look cool!

A simple swing dance would be nothing without the people who put it together.

Two of the main dancers are in suits—one is wearing a blue suit, the other one white. They are motivating the rest of the team to keep up, and both are technically gifted and charismatic.

Since the video was posted, the clip got more than two million YouTube views for their passionate performance.

The routine definitely looks super smooth and elegant while these guys are doing it! They all have some of the best steps we’ve seen in a while, and the sound of their stomping feet under the music is sure to make you want to dance.
