No one could fully expect what kind of surprises are in store in a big live concert.
A great example of this is from one of Justin Timberlake’s biggest live concert at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
Singing his iconic pop songs at the Capital of Country music, Timberlake decided to take on a country song.
The iconic pop star and former NSYNC member went to Bridgestone Arena on a Friday night to give his fans what they wanted: a great and lively concert.
The concert was on the same day as his former NSYNC bandmate, Lance Bass. It was a difficult choice, but he chose not to disappoint his fans waiting for him in Nashville.
After performing some of his songs along with his concert band, he decided to bring out a cover of an iconic country song “Friends in Low Places,” which was originally written by country singer-songwriter, Garth Brooks.
“I mean, this is the country music capital of the world, right?” Timberlake asked his enthusiastic fans.
Nashville roared in excitement when Justin Timberlake started to sing the song.
His smooth, pop vocals were a perfect fit for the country song.
He let his roaring crowd sing the chorus while he strummed his acoustic guitar to perfection. However, halfway through the song, he interrupted his show and suddenly said, “Hold on now—something doesn’t feel right.”
As the huge crowd was dazzled with confusion, he followed with, “I mean if you’re gonna do this—Garth?”
The crowd bellowed with joy as they saw Garth Brooks appearing on stage with Justin Timberlake.
The country musician greeted Justin Timberlake with a big hug.
After the pop singer reintroduced Brooks into the crowd, the band restarted the song with both of them collaborating with a spontaneous duet.
Brooks was an iconic country musician, and it’s not surprising that the capital of country music would cheer on him when they heard his name called out.
It was just amazing how the old and new generations have such an overlapping fan base.
The whole time they were singing, Timberlake just could not hide the excitement from his face.
Timberlake can’t hide the fact that he’s a huge fan of Garth Brooks.
The whole time he sings, he’s jumpy and enthusiastic having Brooks with him on stage.
Timberlake even refused to end the song with only the two original verses and asked the original singer to sing the “lost third verse”—the verse that was not on any studio recording of the song.
Brooks shared that he has not sung the third verse in many concerts but he was open to the idea of bringing it back again with all the hype going on in that concert.
The duet ended with Timberlake descending on the floor with overflowing satisfaction.
The artists gave their crowd quite a ride and ended the song with a great finish.
These two musicians from different generations gave one hell of a show in Nashville!
With only one song, they were able to fill the enormous stadium with enthusiasm.
For everyone who was there, it probably was one of the most unforgettable concerts.
