They say that the happiest people are the ones who find joy in the simple things. And that those who are happiest find a way to turn things that might not be so fun, like work, into things that are fun, like dance parties.
You might not always love your job every single day, but you can find ways to make it fun when you can.
Let’s take garbage collecting for example. It seems like one of the least desirable jobs. Picking up heavy garbage cans filled with people’s stinky trash doesn’t sound like a walk in the park.
But that’s now how these garbage collectors in Petropolis, Brazil see it. These guys have a positive attitude about their job and look like they are having a grand old time.
They don’t just pick up trash, they have a dance party while picking up trash. What a great way to let the work day pass by while still getting the job done.
It’s also not a bad way to stay in shape and get in some exercise during the work day.
“The garbage collectors always asked me to turn on music from my car,” said a person who posted the video on YouTube. “That day was around 12 p.m., I found them and I increased the volume of the sound. Then, they started to dance and I thought it cool and recorded their joy.”
Not only do they clean up the streets and carry away garbage in their community, but they also bring joy to people’s faces with their sweet dance moves.
To the people who see them dancing on the streets, as well as the ten thousand plus people who watched the video on YouTube.
“Music always makes a trashy job better,” said one YouTuber.
One YouTube commenter suggested that they were picking up something else (and putting it up their nose) while they were collecting the trash, but we’re pretty sure this was just a case of some positive vibes and good old fashioned fun.
The video shows four garbage men dancing alongside and behind their garbage truck. Happily swaying their arms and skipping along while picking up trash bags left on the sidewalk.
We wish that all towns would hire trash collectors who know how to party like this.
