America’s Got Talent never falls short of the surprise factor, and that’s for both the horrible and the spectacular.

It is a show that allows the most ordinary of folks to stand on stage and show the world just how talented they really are.

We have been spoiled with dancers, singers, comedians, and many others, and yet there are still so many others out there.

Even people from other countries join the show in the hopes of becoming the next big star.

Meet Gabriel Henrique, a 27-year-old from Brazil.

He is on his first trip to America, and he auditioned with confidence. And boy did he!

Speaking with the assistance of an interpreter during the pre-audition chat, Henrique says he spoke only “a little bit” of English, and that he’s “just trying.”

Imagine the nerves of being in a foreign country, not being able to speak the language, and having to perform in front of others.

But that’s what this young Brazilian did.

Many others steer clear of songs made famous by Whitney Houston.

She was once dubbed “The Voice” by record producer Clive Davis, but Henrique is different, taking on the late diva’s song with a cover of “Run to You.”

And it was clear to everyone that Henrique was definitely up to the challenge.

He transitioned from one epic note to the next, getting the crowd on their feet, loudly cheering him on.

But wait until he hits those insanely high notes.

All four judges dropped their jaws as the Brazilian unleashed some of the highest notes ever seen and heard from a man.

Henrique’s English may need some work but music is the universal language. And the man is fluent.

And he just blew the roof off an American show.

“I did not expect that voice to come out of you,” Howie Mandel said.

“You sound like the best and finest pop diva there ever was. I would imagine if people are watching this now in the other room they’re gonna go, did you hear that song?

Come in and see who sang that. You’re amazing.”

“If Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey had a baby, it would be Gabriel,” Heidi Klum followed.

”Wow, you are incredible.”

The often strict and difficult to please Simon Cowell went next.

“People are going to really like you. You’re just so interesting,” he claimed. “I can tell that you’ve sang in church and you don’t know how good you are. It was amazing.”

Colombian judge Sofia Vergara then said. “I don’t have words, that was so perfect, spectacular. Your voice is beautiful. Your energy, who you are. It was perfect.” That performance was “something I was waiting for, something very beautiful and very heartfelt.”

And she didn’t bother calling for a vote, as she hit the golden buzzer, showering the Brazilian in golden confetti.

Vergara then joined the young singer on stage, where she and Henrique embraced while sharing a word in Spanish.

No wonder the Spanish and the Portuguese were always after gold!
