Dancing is one of those activities that’s good for the mind, body, and soul. People of all ages can participate, and it can be done practically anywhere.

But let’s face it, there are certain people who are just way better at it then some of the rest of us! That’s because they dedicate their lives to the art form and the results are pretty spectacular.

Jordan Frisbee and Torri Smith Zzaoui are both accomplished West Coast Swing dancers who can knock a crowd’s socks off. When they participated in the 2019 US Open Swing Dance Championships, it’s no surprise that’s exactly what happened.

The pair was lucky number 7 taking the dance floor at the competition.

Once the hip song “Charlene” begins playing in the background, Jordan and Torri spring into action with their West Coast Swing style. Their feet roll on the floor, they utilize their hips, and Jordan spins his partner like she’s lighter than air. Not only are their moves smooth as silk, but they’re quite mesmerizing to watch too.

The US Open Swing Dance Championships is a popular event that draws in talented dancers from all over. According to their website, it’s the “oldest swing competition in the world.”

They also explain:

“More competitors come to The Open to perform their swing routines than any other event in the world. Dancers consider The US Open to be the most challenging and exciting swing competition on the planet. Spectators get to witness the most amazing dance performances that will be seen in one place, at one time.”

Jordan and Torri’s dance moves mix perfectly with the tune “Charlene,” which was released in 1989 by the “King of Rockabilly,” Carl Perkins.

Not only did the pair dance in front of competitors and spectators, but a panel of judges too. While this would be intimidating for many of us – Jordan and Torri each have long histories in the world of West Coast Swing.

According to the California Swing Dance Hall of Fame, Jordan began taking dance lessons at the age of 11 after a “pretty girl” asked him if he knew how to dance the style. As for Torri, she started at the young age of three living in California. Both dancers have made great achievements in their field over the years.

Interestingly enough, Jordan (and his partner) brought home the first-place prize during the 2018 Open Swing Dance Championships – in the category of “Strictly Swing.” At the time he was paired with Victoria Henk.

Jordan and Torri light the dance floor on fire during the competition. What makes it even better is that it looks like they’re having a blast doing it!

A viewer named Jazzy wrote:

My 20th time watching this. It’s so great when you have the right music.”

Their partner dance is unbelievable to watch just from a phone or computer screen – so it makes sense that the duo had everyone cheering for them at the end. People online have also been blown away watching the duo’s high-energy dance.
