As shows like America’s Got Talent get more and more popular, it takes more and more originality to standout.
Though there are definitely plenty of inspiring stories and incredible talents on the show, if you watch it a lot you’re bound to see a lot of incredible pop singers and plenty of incredible dancers, though sometimes the audience is hungry for something slightly different. Though it’s hard to be truly original, there are still people who manage to break through with a new idea.
As this performance shows, there’s definitely still room for performances that take us by surprise.
The performers in question were four young men from France.
As they step out, they introduce themselves to the judges as Berywam. All four of them do music together and they came on America’s Got Talent to win the entire competition and follow their dreams!
From the very beginning, the crowd is excited about them and thinks that they have an air of mystery about them. Soon after, the judges get out of their way and let them perform.
The four men take a deep breath to steady themselves before setting into it.
After a moment, the show starts with one of the men making some strange sounds with his mouth.
After establishing the first set of notes, a second man joins in to form a complex rhythm with him.
A moment later, a third man joins in by laying down the basic drum rhythm, by the time the fourth man is in, all four of them are jumping up and down and dancing while doing the performance. Though what they’re doing is beatboxing, it’s rare to see it done so eloquently and so smoothly as they seem to do it.
After just the first part of the song, the audience can’t stop cheering—but the group isn’t done performing yet.
When the first portion is over, they transition seamlessly into a song with a faster tempo, dancing the whole time.
Though the first song was somewhat hip-hop inspired, the second one is a lot more of a techno-style, rave dance song. Once that’s over, the group speaks to the crowd and asks them to put their hands up! By this point in the performance, the atmosphere in the arena seems more like a rave than a standard talent show!
With all the cheers in the air, the group transitions into their third and final song.
The energy in the crowd is at an all-time high when they switch into another musical genre altogether.
To round out their performance, they keep the upbeat energy going but add a reggaeton element to it to keep the crowd dancing. After smoothly performing through that part without missing any beats, the four of them come together again to do some scratching sounds before hitting a final pose. When it’s all over, the crowd gives them a huge round of applause!
Needless to say, you don’t see a performance like this on America’s Got Talent every day!
