Almost everyone knows the song “Let It Go”, especially if you have children. But for those of you who are not aware, “Let It Go” is a song featured in the hit Disney film Frozen. The song is performed by revered Broadway actress Idina Menzel.
The song has gained international recognition, becoming one of the “most globally recorded Disney songs, with numerous covers being recorded in different languages.”
With that said, you have likely seen “Let It Go” featured in a vocal performance or a dance routine. But have you ever seen it in a freestyle reigning performance?
Well, thanks to the viral video below, now you can say you have.
In 2015, Laura Sumrall won the world championship freestyle title at the Kentucky Reining Cup in Lexington.
At the time of the performance, Laura was a student at Texas A&M University. Little did she know she would walk away with a world championship title!
With Frozen having just been released in 2013, Laura chose a perfect song to accompany her performance. She also made sure to get her costuming on point, even down to Elsa’s intricate hairstyle.
Based on the footage below, I think it goes without saying that she did a wonderful job.
You can see the great bond Laura and her horse have based on the way they ride together. Laura barely has to guide her horse with her reigns – the horse knows exactly what to do.
Also, seeing how comfortable Laura is riding on her horse in a long flowing dress is amazing to watch. That is no easy feat and she makes it look effortless.
Her horse accelerates to incredible speed at one point, but Laura is perfectly calm and trusts in her horse companion to follow their routine. Her horse executes it perfectly, even down to side-trotting footwork.
The crowd cheers for Laura and her horse all the way through her performance. Even if you are a casual fan of Frozen, her freestyle reign performance is bound to put a smile on your face.
