If you have never seen a live piano concert, you are really missing out.

There’s nothing like watching someone tap those keys with passion and rhythm. When a man sat down at a piano at the NAMM Show in Anaheim, everyone gathered around the watch him play and listen to the amazing music he was about to create.

Little did they know, they were in for a real treat.

He wasn’t going to be playing alone, and they were about to witness a musical spectacle that they wouldn’t soon forget.

The man was dressed in an old-fashioned paperboy outfit. The outfit went well with his musical choice.

As he started to play, he got his toes tapping and was really getting into it.

The audience started to get excited, and people started getting out their phones to record the man as he played. A woman was seated beside the man on the piano bench. She was working hard to get everyone clapping and dancing along to the upbeat music.

The man was playing a boogie woogie selection, and it was as fun to play as it was to listen to.

It just makes you want to dance and move to the beat. The energy and passion of the pianist made the song all the more fun. The woman continued to work the audience, and then she decided she wanted in on the music.

She started playing on the same piano, creating a unique sound that the audience just couldn’t get enough of.

They both moved around the piano, climbing over each other, wrapping their arms around each other, and leaning back and forth across each other to hit the next key. Somehow, they never missed a beat, and the song continued on despite all their moving around.

The audience was clapping and cheering as they continued to play.

Boogie woogie music is sometimes referred to as ragtime music. It is a popular genre for dancing, and there have been many popular musicians who prefer this type of music. According to Streetswing.com, it’s a somewhat complicated music style. The website says:

“Originally called Barrelhouse. Boogie woogie was more of a piano musical style (C,G,A,G) than a dance with Pinetop Smith writing the first official boogie woogie song in 1928. However, there were main parts of the music style as far back as 1900. If there is such a dance, it is known as swing dancing (any style) usually called ‘Jump Swing’ done to faster blues or boogie-woogie music, hence the term ‘Let’s Boogie’ (Move Out, Go, Get it in Gear etc.) as well as the term ‘boogie’ meaning: let loose, don’t hold back, get down etc. Boogie woogie music is not always fast however and can be danced to this slower form, usually among the West Coast swing dancers.”

Of course, these pianists didn’t make it look complicated at all.

They had no problem keeping up with the beat. The only thing that’s missing is a room full of people dancing. From the way the audience was responding, they weren’t too far away from making that happen.

These pianists are definitely talented, and their choice of music made their performance fun. Hopefully, they put on a few more shows so everyone can enjoy their music. That is, if they aren’t too tired from this last one. They sure did a lot of moving around; they might need to take a rest before their next performance. At least we can all watch it over and over again on YouTube.
