Errands AND a show! What more could a person ask for? 😉 😂

Now, we promise this isn’t an ad for Target, but we do have to acknowledge what a wonderful place it is. You can get pretty much anything at Target, plus their own brand of stuff is usually great and they have so much to offer, you can spend a whole day in that store.

When you walk into Target, it’s hard not to be overwhelmed with pure joy. Sometimes we might be so happy, we want to break out dancing — but we don’t because that would technically be embarrassing.

However, the possibility of embarrassment didn’t stop this one man from dancing his face off at a local Target. He pretty much conveyed how we all feel on the inside and if anything, seemed to embrace judgment from the public.

“I had this idea to go to a public place (in this case…the local shopping mall) and dance like no one’s business,” the man, Preston Leatherman, explained. “The only catch is, there is an iPod in my ear, so no one else around me can hear the music.”

He truly danced like no one was watching.

So that’s exactly what he did… A silent disco, if you will. He walked into the Houstin, TX mall liked he owned the place and then danced like he just might shut the whole place down.

The song choice is perfect, too.

And out of all the songs he could have chosen to dance to, he certainly hit the nail on the head with “Footloose” by Kenny Loggins. It’s one of the few songs that pretty much force you to dance, after all! It’s so groovy and upbeat, there is no way you can listen to this song and not tap your feet at the very least.

No corner left behind.

Preston really made sure to dance in every area of the mall. The video montage starts out by the cash registers in Target, where we don’t hear the music yet but just see the man lightly tapping his feet and boogying from side-to-side as clueless shoppers walk on by with their carts.

After that, Preston cuts to clips of him dancing in photo booths, the video game arcade, the open space in the main area of the mall, every aisle in Target, outside at restaurants, in the food court, and in front of a big bucket of watermelons.

Sometimes he keeps to himself. Other times, he picks strangers to engage with — some of them love it while others stare in major confusion. Can’t say we blame them!

One thing is super consistent though, despite the strangers’ reactions: Preston’s dancing.

“Heads turned. Jaws Dropped. Hilarity Ensued,” he wrote.

Even when he could have gotten shy or felt awkward, Preston ignored that. Instead, he continued to dance as if his life depended on it.

Viral fame for this Target dancer.

He danced hard and it paid off because the video went viral, amassing over two million views.

It’s everyone’s dream to dance in public with no cares to give, but unfortunately not everyone has the courage to do so.

This man went right out there and proved that it is possible, and he spread all of the good vibes. We bet that anyone who ran into him that day was either super surprised or his happiness rubbed off on them! Hopefully the latter!

The best part!

The best part of all this is that some strangers actually joined in and danced with Preston, but they still had no idea which song it was that they were dancing to. It didn’t matter – they were just letting go regardless!
