The smell of cafeteria food, the roar of a crowd, and fluorescent lights illuminating a hallway. What do all these have in common? High school! Regardless of whether you were popular or not, we all loved a chance to get out of class and laugh. One of the best ways to do that was school rallies! School rallies were usually held when there was a big game for the football team.
While most football players sit around during school rallies, these guys got involved.
Most school rallies had some type of dance performed by the cheerleaders before the players left. At Ridge View High, things were a bit more interesting! Instead of the players just sitting around and watching, they conspired with the cheerleaders to come up with a hilarious dance routine!
Starting off with cheers, the players come out onto the court.
The crowd murmurs while people try and figure out what is going on. “Are they dancing with the cheerleaders?” you can almost hear people asking. Suddenly, the music starts, the crowd hushes, and the routine begins. It’s going to be funny.
The groups move toward each other and meet in the middle.
Facing off, the players and cheerleaders stare each other down as they start their dance. The boys seem to be trapped in the cheerleader’s spell as they come together in the middle! Suddenly, they move forward and then spread out across the court, moving into the next part of their song.
Hitting all the popular moves, the crowd goes wild.
Getting the crowd hype is required for a dance like this! They hit some popular moves and then move into a crowd favorite: Milkshake! With the lyrics, “My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard” ringing in the background, the boys shake it and dance while the girls watch!
Taking a quick knee, strumming a guitar, and then turning on Drake, these kids definitely practiced!
All the boys suddenly drop down on one knee to “serenade” the girl they are paired with while a slow song plays. After a quick few seconds of this, the music does a record scratch, all the boys stand up, and the whole group dances to Hotline Bling! They hit the infamous Drake dance that has been turned into many funny pictures.
Flying through a rapid-firing of songs, they hit their best moves yet!
They Crank That (Soulja Boy), do an assisted flip with two of the guys, swing, and line up in two groups. With Katy Perry’s Darkhorse, they sway back and forth, finally getting to the end of the routine. Their final dance? Cotton-eyed Joe! They do a quick hoe-down dance and finish off their routine with laughter and hugs all around.
This video is sure to remind you of your high school days!
While many of us don’t want to remember our high school days, little things like this remind us all of what it means to be a teenager again. Dancing, goofing off and having fun are what life is all about.
