Music connects people, and continuing to share that art with other people can strengthen bonds or create new ones.

This is just what you can see after an unexpected trio shares their passion for music through one special homemade performance.

One man arranged a collaboration with two talented Filipino singers.

Somewhere in Manila, AJ Rafael, a Filipino-American musician gathered two female singers namely, Jessica Sanchez, a seasoned singer-songwriter, and Ylona Garcia, a half-Filipino, a half-Australian singer who was also the youngest of the group, to sing an awesome medley featuring classic karaoke songs.

He knew Sanchez for a long time already, but it was his first time meeting the young teen singer.

Rafael himself took the time to craft a musical arrangement for this particular medley piece before meeting up with Sanchez and Garcia for their collaboration.

Their performance starts off strong, with a classic love duet.

Apparently, they have been performing the medley a couple of times already, and they were hoping to have the third take their final one.

The singers were prepping themselves for the third retry, and after a few seconds, they immediately went for it!

Rafael led the charge by playing the intro of Lionel Richie’s “Endless Love” on his keyboard and followed it with his singing of the male part of the duet.

Sanchez answered back with her soft, vibrato-filled timbre, while Rafael accompanied her for the duet harmony.

You would never expect to hear that voice coming from such a tiny body!

After Rafael and Sanchez’s heartfelt chorus, the notes immediately transitioned to another key, taking another second or two until you could recognize the tune from Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing.”

Garcia, who was waiting for her turn, coursed through the song’s verse softly. Sanchez took over the pre-chorus, giving Garcia a quick breather before going towards the next big part.

The young singer suddenly belted with her surprisingly rich and powerful vocals that no one expected.

She let out vocal growls, filling her singing with more passion and it is just endlessly amazing how she could pull that off.

Garcia was still 16 at the time, yet her voice has already bested plenty of professional singers.

They carried on with the medley, singing another Whitney Houston song.

Sanchez sang the karaoke hit, “I Will Always Love You.”

Sanchez is best suited to singing Whitney Houston songs given her vocal prowess. Everyone sang the chorus, producing a smooth and pleasant-sounding three-way harmony. Rafael painted a smile on his face, impressed by the young girl’s flow.

Afterward, the groove switched to a more upbeat jazz pattern coming from “At Last,” an Etta James classic.

Garcia took the lead this time, singing solo with her ebb and flowing vocal runs.

Finally, they came back to their second song only this time, Sanchez delivered the explosive, curtain-calling chorus.

This is what happens when you put three talented people in one room!

Their medley was endlessly impressive, and you can just see how each of the singers shone beyond the stars. The moment they knew that they successfully pulled off the medley, the singers sang an upbeat version of “I Will Always Love You” as a celebration.

It is just amazing how the trio shared a room for hours to perfect this medley.

Most importantly, they were able to have fun and formed bonds with each other just by being in the same room as musicians.
