Vanessa James and Morgan Cipres stepped onto the ice in matching silver and sequence skating outfits to bring a level of magic not previously seen to Christina Aguilera’s poignant song, Say Something.

In a video that has more than 28 thousand likes and 1.3 million views on YouTube, as well as countless more views elsewhere, the pairs skating duo from France bring their own unique style and chemistry to the ice.

It is something you have to see before you can really believe it. The way the two of them skate together really is something to behold. It goes beyond skill and sweeps you into the moment.

Koreen Smith put it this way in a comment on YouTube:

“I am beginning to wonder what feelings they evoke within me; is it their intimacy, harmony, synchronicity, connection, their grace… I don’t know. However, I am hooked and I have found my new ‘IT’ couple.”

And she is right. In fact, she is incredibly right.

Say something

They skated onto the ice almost casually and then took their positions opposite from each other, dropping the casual demeanor for something more intense.

As the music from the song started, the two began to skate in circles around each other, crossing each other’s paths, and meeting to twirl and glide across the ice together in harmony together. He lifts and throws her effortlessly and they continue with their perfectly choreographed dance on ice, jumping in unison followed by gracefully skating as he holds her close.

The chemistry and music are enough to take your breath away.

Kevin Lopez pretty much sums it up:

“True poetry on ice. They’ve come so far in their performances. Their synchronicity is amazing. And you can see the bond of trust and friendship. They’re spectacular. Strong Olympic contenders.”

Skating from the soul

They continue their routine, their eyes meeting as they move. He spins her around with a strength that appears almost effortless. They glide smoothly and the routine is nearly flawless, even during the more technically challenging aspects.

Yvette Stevens explains the feelings that watching them can evoke:

“So many good skaters but this two was great…there movement was even execellent .. the way there body moves it seems like theres a strong attachement from the soul..”

And the audience agrees. The stadium’s audience breaks into cheers at each jump and each graceful and unexpected move. Watchers on YouTube were left just as stunned.

Well, there’s that and their winning second place for the performance. They won first place in our hearts.
