West Coast Swing is a popular partner dance, and has roots in the Lindy Hop. What is also quite fantastic about this is that dancers can go for any kind of contemporary music.

As they go to the stage to show their moves, the audience’s cheers are deafening, and they feel so much support. Now ready to showcase a fantastic performance, the crowd awaits with excitement. When they start dancing, they become unstoppable!

Despite the improv dance, they give a smooth execution.

It may look as if they are doing it effortlessly, but we know very well the amount of time they have spent to practice and perfect their dancing skills and attain a pro-level.

Dancing to a modern music

The pair takes West Coast Swing to a new level when they decide on a contemporary music, “Back in Time” by Pitbull.

It is quite a surprise to see the pair move showing their creativity and art of dancing with such kind of music.

One comment reads:

“Sweet! Smooth moves and great musicality. That’s why WCS is so good; it allows for so much improvisation.”

The duo’s performance is also praised by many, and you can read comments like:

“Now that’s art..men and women..movin’ and a groovin’ like one! God’s beautiful design.”

“When I grow up, I want to be just like Ben.”

On the other hand, some viewers are not able to appreciate the modern music to which they chose to dance to. They are not so pleased with the modern rhythm as an accompaniment as they probably find it too modern.

One specifically writes:

“It’s disappointing to have a dance form I enjoy watching being danced to music that I don’t enjoy.”

But, there are many who are quick to respond to the criticism. They say if they don’t enjoy such kind of music, they can mute the video and just appreciate the dance. Others also respond that it’s great to watch something evolve. This happens most of the time, and it is pretty subjective if one appreciates it or not.

There are indeed people who want to see the dancers perform a certain dance to a particular kind of music in this modern time. On the other hand, seeing the flexibility of the dancers to groove to any kind of music is undoubtedly impressive. It just proves how good they are.

If you wish to follow Ben and Torri, you can get more information on their social media accounts.
