Now that a lot of us are spending most of our time at home, an increasing number of people are taking on projects they normally couldn’t commit to. After all, if you’re not going to work or school every day, it’s a perfect time to try something new. That’s why so many individuals are starting all kinds of new activities, hobbies, and projects.

Some people are putting a lot of effort into these side projects. From YouTube channels to learning languages to painting, individuals around the world are getting creative. Luckily for the rest of us, some of them decided to put their work on the internet.

One father-daughter duo is doing just that

With extra time available, a father and his grown-up daughter decided to put on a performance to share with the world. But first, they had to come up with an idea. Why not recreate one of their favorite movie scenes?

It’s from “Beetlejuice”

If you remember this movie, you know it was a huge hit after being released. And its popularity continues to this day. While there are a ton of iconic scenes in that movie, this father and daughter had to narrow the choices to one.

A difficult task

You might think they would’ve chosen one of the easier scenes to recreate. You know, one of the scenes in the movie that only required one or two characters in addition to them. But that wasn’t the case.

The dinner scene

Instead, they chose the dinner scene. If you haven’t seen the movie before, it’s one of the most involved scenes in the entire film. There’s a whole group of people dancing around the dinner table to the “Banana Boat Song” by Harry Belafonte.

But this dad and daughter play all the characters

This duo didn’t even enlist the help of other family members or friends. Instead, they portrayed every character in the scene themselves. You’re probably wondering how they pulled that off.

Smart camera angles

The way they filmed the scene worked incredibly well with just two people. There are only a few parts where it’s even noticeable at all. They use some amateur editing to add different versions of themselves into the scene at one point.

Incredible costumes

Perhaps one of the most impressive aspects of this video is the costumes…they’re so amazing. They look very similar to those worn in the movie Beetlejuice. They went all out to make their performance looked as much like the original as possible.

Creativity overload

You can tell this project took a lot of work starting with the planning stage through the filming portion. This dad and daughter gave this everything they had to create something that’s unique, which can be difficult to do on the internet these days. They used their quarantine to do something productive.

They’ve made other videos

But this “Beetlejuice” video isn’t the only one the pair has done. While adhering to the stay-at-home order, they’ve been super busy. They’ve done scenes from other movies including the “Rocky Horror Picture Show.”
