The crazy chaos of this past year has undoubtedly left a permanent impression on life as we know it.
With a pandemic sweeping the entire globe, many people have shifted their routines—largely out of necessity. Keeping our distance and staying indoors has become a new way of life. However, people aren’t letting these terms dictate their happiness. In fact, they’re pushing back.
Creativity is at an all-time high amid the COVID-19 pandemic!
While we could easily allow stir craziness to consume us, many are discarding the affliction in exchange for mood-boosting activities easily fulfilled at home.
Many are here to prove that life can still be interesting, even if you’re stuck indoors. Not only that, they’re spreading positivity during a time where we could all use an extra dose.
Quarantine Dance Challenge 2k20 videos are trending right now.
Many families and people young and old are participating in global dance-offs to continually spread the light in times of uncertainty.
Across social media platforms like TikTok and YouTube, people are uploading their contributions, and dancing away the blues one challenge at a time.
And whether it’s a solo routine or an entire family, dance-off clips are going viral.
The video we have today is from Michael and Ali Hoffman.
Their adorable upload really kicked the entire quarantine dance challenge off.
Since being shared on YouTube, it remains one of the most popular with close to two million views and 30,000 likes.
In the video, 29-year-old Alif Hoffman and her father Michael dance it out while lip-syncing to Jess Glynne’s popular song “Hold My Hand.”
The video features the hilarious duo getting down right there in their kitchen.
As Glynne’s feel-good song begins to play, Ali begins to lip-sync the words along with her.
And no sooner does her father enter into the scene with some of the funniest looking back-up vocals you’ve ever witnessed.
Before long, mother joins in on all the excitement!
Their routine will have you up and dancing along in no time!
It’s easy to see how it’s stolen the hearts of millions of others. This isn’t the first time the pair has uploaded dance video that’s gone viral. Five years ago they witnessed a huge ice storm in Dallas that kept them locked up inside, to which they performed “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars. Having fun is just in their nature!
The couple’s fame has spread across the internet, and they’ve even gotten offers from companies who want to use clips of their routine in their campaigns.
From a CBS interview with the family:
“We did a video five years ago,” shares Ali, a youth minister at a local church. “We were dancing in our kitchen during an ice day storm, and it went viral, so we were like, ‘we’re stuck at home again, so time to dance!’
And dancing is just what the world needs right now. Ali commented on their intentions:
“Our reason to do this was to inject some light and levity into the world right now. It can be consuming, the darkness can be consuming.”
With families like the Hoffmans, we know we’ve always got a bright spot to turn to when things start to get too deep. Their weightlessness is an inspiration for people everywhere!
