During the 1970s, a lot of exciting bands emerged. One, in particular, made headlines around the globe. That band…Queen. With the lead singer as Freddie Mercury, along with other incredibly talented musicians, it didn’t take any time at all for them to receive rave reviews.
A new sound
Queen had a unique sound that was a combination of hard rock, progressive rock, and heavy metal. But over time, they slowly focused more on conventional music played on the radio. Although they had numerous tops hits like “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “Killer Queen,” and “Under Pressure,” it was “Bohemian Rhapsody” that blew everyone away.
Biggest hits
Once social media became a big deal, people everywhere began uploading videos of themselves performing one of the many Queen hits. While some of them were pretty good, others failed miserably. After all, trying to pay homage to Freddie Mercury isn’t an easy task.
A father and son duo
While sitting comfortably on their living room sofa, a father and his young son decided to take a shot at one of Queen’s cover songs. Although the dad doesn’t sound much like Mercury, we have to say, he has a good singing voice.
Giving it their all
Doug, the father, and Brayden, his son, understand how iconic Queen is. So, they wanted to do the best job possible. Besides that, they both love the music this band created. In an uploaded video, the dad starts. But then, his son joins in.
Impressive
This boy couldn’t be more than 10 years old yet he already has a powerful voice. If he studies and works hard, who knows, he could end up having a successful career in the music industry. When he sings, you immediately notice he has some serious potential.
Having a blast
As the two begin to sing together, they both giggle and smile. Like millions of other people, this New Jersey family was isolated due to the coronavirus. So, they wanted to do something fun with their time.
The song of choice?
They chose to do “Don’t Stop Me Now.” At one point, the music speeds up and you can almost feel their excitement build. Suddenly, they’re singing fast but having no problem keeping up with the tempo.
Feeling the music
When the lyrics, “I’m gonna go, go, go…there’s no stopping me now” come up, the father turns to his son. It’s almost like he’s sending him a message that in life, he and his son are unstoppable. It’s a precious moment.
They keep on singing
As the song continues with, “I’m burning through the sky, yeah, two hundred degrees, that’s why they call me Mister Fahrenheit, I’m traveling at the speed of light, I wanna make a supersonic man out of you,” they’re pretty much right on key.
Serving a good cause and creating memories
The best part of the video is you get to witness a dad and his boy making a memory. With this, they’ll always have a special video to look back on. It’s a shame that more parents don’t do something like this with their children. But there’s more to the story.
You see, these two weren’t trying to be the next Freddie Mercury. Not only did they do this for their enjoyment but also as part of the Zzak G. Applaud Our Kids Foundation open mic night.
