Most people think that being famous means having endless contacts of hairdressers and stylists. And while that may be true, not everyone is blessed with a thick head of hair.
Stress, aging, drinking, and lots of partying can cause hair loss for men. Even Hollywood’s male celebs have been known to wear hair pieces. But who? Well read on and see for yourself!
Charlie Sheen
Charlie Sheen, with all his partying and controversial antics, was rumored to wear a hairpiece for many of his acting jobs and public appearances.
Is anyone even surprised though?
Ben Affleck
You wouldn’t know it and it doesn’t seem like he does but transplant surgeon Dr. John Frank said Affleck has “become sort of the poster boy for a bad hairpiece.”
Still, he made a pretty good Batman, and his other roles were pretty cool too.
Elton John
Elton John’s got more hair now than he did in the ’70s. He did get a hair transplant in the ’80s, and you could see why during some of his concerts.
Good thing he’s into wearing hats and attention grabbing clothes.
Robert Pattinson
Pattinson’s hair was thinning in 2011. He even said he had to wear a hairpiece in the final Twilight film.
If he didn’t, we would have noticed his head glittering in the sun.
Matthew McConaughey
McConaughey is not as bald as he was in the ’90s. He may have gotten hair transplant surgery or settled for wearing a hairpiece.
Either way, he is one of those actors who seem to never age so it all works out for him.
Chuck Norris
Chuck Norris doesn’t need haircuts because his hair knows when to back down.
Kidding aside, not even the great Chuck Norris can escape the signs of aging.
Or can he?
John Travolta
Travolta once demanded re-shoots for magazine photos just so his hairpiece didn’t look too obvious.
Maybe all those hair styling products finally caught up to him.
Enough with the grease already.
Jude Law
Jude Law’s receding hairline has always been noticeable up until 2012 when it became fuller.
To be fair, that receding hairline has become his trademark look.
Jason Alexander
Jason Alexander began making public appearances wearing a hairpiece in 2011.
He’s always been one of the more famous balding men in Hollywood.
Jon Cryer
Jon Cryer admitted to wearing fake hair in most public appearances and roles.
But he does get photographed with his bald head so he doesn’t really hide it.
Kevin James
Kevin James was rumored to have worn a toupee throughout filming of King of Queens.
It’s not like fans would notice since we’re after the laughs he’s always involved in.
Jeremy Piven
Piven was rumored to have spent thousands of dollars on hair transplant surgery.
That’s a lot of money to bring back hair. But it is his head anyway.
Sean Connery
Connery was a dashing bald man and he rocked it. Apparently, he’s always been that way since the 007 days.
He wore a hairpiece for every Bond film he was in.
Billy Bob Thornton
Thornton has more hair now than he did in the late ’90s, if you remember his movie roles.
Talk about reverse aging.
Brendan Fraser
Brendan Fraser’s hair was obviously thinning in 2008, but by 2009, it grew back.
Perhaps he found an ancient book in Egypt with an incantation for hair growth?
Ted Danson
Ted Danson wears a toupee over his bald spot and it’s not exactly noticeable.
Must have spent hours perfecting the fit and the look.
Jay Leno
Famous talk show host Jay Leno’s hair looks too perfect for a man in his 60s.
Not to mention he likes to drive cars fast and his hair never seems to get out of place.
Nicolas Cage
Nicolas Cage is a known actor with a balding spot so he has admitted to wearing wigs for roles.
Others speculate that he’s also worn a toupee in his private life and it wouldn’t be surprising if he did.
Hugh Laurie
Laurie was balding in real life, but he had a full head of hair on House so it’s anyone’s guess as to how he did it.
One look at that hairline and you know there’s not much up there.
Donald Trump
According to his ex, former President Trump’s hair is the result of a complicated procedure.
It’s been the subject of many jokes and has been featured in animated shows.
William Shatner
Many people know that William Shatner wore a toupee during his days on Star Trek.
He’s still very much a beloved figure to many fans around the world.
Charlton Heston
Star Trek actor George Takei made public that Charlton Heston was bald after acting with together in a play in London.
In fact, Heston reportedly wore two wigs on stage to hide his baldness.
Gene Simmons
Simmons has been wearing a wig for decades and it’s not just for the band’s look.
To be fair he also wears a lot of makeup when doing so.
Humphrey Bogart
Bogart wore a hairpiece, and he even had a relationship with his wigmaker so there must have been free pieces.
Smart man, entering that relationship.
Burt Reynolds
Sandra Harmon is a former writer for The Dick Cavett Show.
She says she accidentally pulled Burt Reynolds’ wig off filming an intimate moment.
This happened in the seventies so who knows?
Kevin Costner
Hair transplant surgeon Dr. Craig Ziering says that the actor had a hair procedure between September 2006 and March 2007.
Given since Costner is an older actor now.
Marv Albert
Aside from his trademark voice and on time commentary, Marv Albert is famous for wearing an obvious hairpiece.
You know it’s Albert when you hear that silky smooth voice during NBA games.
James Nesbitt
Nesbitt wore wigs for some of his most famous roles, but it was in 2013 when the actor reportedly got hair transplants.
Perhaps this photo tells us why.
Andre Agassi
Agassi shared that wearing a wig made him lose the French Open in 1990.
“My wig was like a chain and the ridiculously long strands in three colours like an iron ball which hung on it,” he wrote in his autobiography, Open.
Bret Michaels
Former Poison vocalist Bret Michaels admitted to wearing hair extensions back in 2008.
No one suspected those long rock and roll locks then.
Ralph Macchio
Ralph Macchio may have worn a hairpiece during his run on Dancing with the Stars.
Watch Cobra Kai though and see if you can tell if he’s wearing one.
