Life in lockdown isn’t easy. A lot of people are feeling lonely, scared, and bored, but thanks to the internet, we’re never quite alone, and there are lots of great folks out there doing what they can to brighten up the lives of others during this difficult time.
We’ve seen people making all kinds of funny videos and sharing them online, and one family have been doing dance challenges every Monday since quarantine kicked off!
And for one of the family’s most recent videos, instead of challenging each other, they decided to throw the gauntlet down to superstar singing and dancing sensation: Bruno Mars.
Chris Starkey runs the YouTube channel. He’s a dancing dad who formerly worked at Disney World. His son, Sage, works there too, and his daughter, Brooklyn, has also got some smooth moves!
You might say that dancing is in this family’s genes, and they all love to strut their stuff and move to the music whenever they get the chance.
The early challenges posted to the family account simply featured Chris battling off against Brooklyn, but as the weeks have gone by, Sage also decided to get involved, and all three of the family members decided to put their skills to the test against Bruno Mars for this very special video.
Chris kicks off the video, wearing a Denver Broncos jersey in honor of the recent NFL draft and introducing the challenge!
His son and daughter appear on screen in their own separate windows, along with a video of Bruno Mars’ performance from Super Bowl 50.
“Hit it!” yells Chris, and ‘Uptown Funk’ starts to play!
We’re then treated to an utterly amazing dancing display from the whole Starkey family, each one of them moving and grooving right in time with Bruno!
Throughout the clip, we see Bruno’s performance always on-screen alongside the various family members.
Chris proves that age is just a number with his smooth moves. Sage blows us away with his Disney-level talents. And young Brooklyn shows that she’s got a bright dancing future ahead of her too!
The family members have clearly taken some time to study Bruno’s Super Bowl performance in advance, memorizing and practicing the various moves.
And when the time comes to show what they can do, they don’t disappoint!
They all do an amazing job, staying right in time with the music and mirroring the star’s moves in style. Spinning, hopping, and shaking their bodies from side to side, nothing is too tough for this dancing family.
These guys could easily be backup dancers on the next Bruno Mars tour with such awesome moves, and when the challenge comes to a close, it’s hard to really say who won!
Bruno is brilliant, of course, but dancing dad Chris is an inspiration, Sage is just too cool, and Brooklyn is a joy to watch. Check out the video for yourself down below and decide for yourself who you think is the best dancer!
