Dance is an art form that is constantly changing and evolving.

Every year brings about new styles of dance—some good, some downright ridiculous. In this evolution of dance from the 1920s to 2000s, these two dancers perfectly mimic popular dances from each decade. From swing dancing to the infamous backpack dance, these guys do it all!

This dancing duo is astounding… they even switch outfits to go along with the times.

Ash and Glen, also known as Twist and Pulse, did their 1920s to 2000s evolution of dance back in 2017—and it instantly went viral.

Because the video started in the 1920s, the videographer put an effect on the camera to make it black and white. Twist and Pulse start with the Lindy Hop, a dance that originated in Harlem in 1928.

After the Lindy Hop, the music switches and the dancers start doing the Charleston before moving into some impressive tap dancing.

Now in the 1930s, Twist and Pulse do a fantastic tap routine with top-hats and all.

With the arrival of the 1940s comes the magnificent swing dance, and Twist and Pulse have it down! I love how the videographer changes the ambiance of the video with each passing decade.

We all know what leather jackets and slicked-back hair represents in music: rock and roll!

The dance evolution continues to the 1950s and into the popular rock and roll era.

Dressed like true rock stars, Twist and Pulse do some of the famous dances from the decade before getting a little psychedelic in the ’60s. Austin Powers would be proud of the next one, as disco is in full effect when the two dancers get to the ’70s!

White bell-bottom suits are the perfect get-up for the funky disco era and the dancers sport them well!

That makes way to the 1980s, when breakdancing ruled the streets and was in full effect.

In my opinion, this is by far the coolest and trickiest type of dancing. Grab your cardboard boxes and bust a move, because Twist and Pulse will have you pumped up.

When it comes to the ’90s, the music was great… but the clothing was horrible! Twist and Pulse come out in hideous overalls that scream “1990s.”

In the final part of the video, the 2000s bring all the social media dances that have became viral sensations.

Technology brought a multitude of dances that spread like wildfire, including Soulja Boy’s “Crank That” dance and the Nae Nae. Twist and Pulse end the video with the floss dance.

Over 18 million people viewed the dance evolution put on my Twist and Pulse.

More than 632,000 liked the video and a whopping 23,800 left comments for the incredible dancers.

“The change in clothing throughout the decades though. My favorite decade music-wise is for sure 20s but idk I think my favorite clothing would have to be 50s.” Said one YouTube user.

“Is it alright if I use some of the choreography for a school dance? I think this is really amazing and I am inspired and want to use some moves from this. Could I?” An inspired YouTube viewer asked.
