How much would you risk to accomplish your dream?
Most of us would risk time, energy, and maybe even a lot of money to achieve our dreams.
Escape artist, Demian Aditya, however, was willing to risk his life for a chance to win America’s Got Talent.
Demian is an Indonesian magician and escape artist. In May 2017, he made his debut on America’s Got Talent.
According to his website, Aditya started learning magic himself at age 10. His career started when he entered another competition in his home country in 2002.
Aditya has also hosted multiple TV shows, but magic is his true passion. Now, he is bringing that passion to the United States.
This past week on America’s Got Talent, Aditya performed a jaw-dropping escape, where failure meant getting buried alive.
According to Demian, this audition was only the second time that he had performed the escape.
The escape was designed to be impossible.
Demian was locked in a glass container below 900 pounds of sand, with his legs, wrists, and neck handcuffed and chained.
When the assistant pulled the lever, the sand started to fall onto the thin layer of glass protecting Demian.
Damian only had two minutes to escape before the sand would break the glass and he would literally get buried alive.
The judges could not believe what they were seeing, and they all had their fingers crossed for Demian.
His wife was on the side of the stage, and she could barely stand to watch.
