What is better than one gymnast nailing a flawlessly routine? Two!
Did you know that there is pairs gymnastics? I had no idea until I watched this performance. Before this, Iโd only ever seen gymnasts going solo on the mat.

At the event, U.S. champions Emily Davis and Aubrey Rosilier, both of San Antonio, Texas/Acrobatic Gymnastics of San Antonio represented the USA for the womenโs pairs competition.
15-year-old Emily and 18-year-old Aubrey have placed several times in the two years theyโve worked together earning:
- 4th place at the 2017 World Games, Wroclaw Poland (Sr. Elite)
- Gold at the 2017 Pan American Championships (Sr. Elite)
- Gold at the 2017 Vegas Acro Cup (13-19 Jr Elite)
- Silver at the 2017 Geneva International Acro Cup (13-19 Jr. Elite)

The two Texas natives competed against 8 other womenโs pairs at the World Championships Acrobatic Gymnastics, from Russia, China, North Korea, Portugal, Netherlands, Ukraine, and Israel.
Emily and Aubrey earned a 27.980 for their first performance in the combined routine. Their 82.740 total ranked them fifth and pushed them to the final of 2018 World Championships Acrobatic Gymnastics.
Working as a team, Emily and Aubrey performed to a slowed-down version of the song โThe Sound of Silenceโ originally sung by Simon and Garfunkel.

They were able to nail their lifts, cartwheels, layouts, and splits. In fact, they managed a split, in the middle of a lift, and even were able to change positions!
Throughout the entire routine, Emily and Aubrey were very aware of each other and moved in sync. Aubrey is a great support system for each of Emilyโs lifts.

Emily and Aubreyโs coach Vladimir Vladev must be incredibly proud of how they managed to flawlessly nail their choreography for this routine.
Despite this incredible performance, the pair did not take home the gold at the competition, though they did come in fifth place!
