Having a successful first audition on America’s Got Talent is definitely no small feat.
If you’ve watched the show before, you know just how competitive those early rounds are. Even if you’re an incredible singer, you’re likely to be going up against dancers, mixed talent acts and even acts that feature an entire group of people!
Needless to say, you really need to have that special something to ensure that you’ll stand out from the crowd. Fortunately, one little girl on the show stunned everyone in her first audition this season.
And her second time out was even more impressive!
The contestant we’re talking about is Emanne Beasha, a 10-year-old opera singer.
As it turns, Beasha had actually competed on the Got Talent franchise before when she was only eight years old. The version of the show she’d appeared on was Arabs Got Talent, and she sang opera once again and ended up winning the entire show!
After that initial success, she decided to take her talents international to appear on America’s Got Talent. After making it through the entry round with aplomb, she tried out her talents in front of a guest judge.
On this episode of the show, that judge was famous late night comedian Jay Leno.
As she explains, she’s made it to Judge Cuts and needs to stun the judges even more than she did initially.
To do that, she decided to sing the hardest song she’s ever sung before. After briefly reintroducing herself to the judges, the background music starts playing.
The song she chooses to sing is “Caruso,’ an Italian opera song written in 1986. Just as she did in the first round, she finds her rhythm and groove almost immediately. Before long, her voice is soaring higher and higher until it hardly seems possible that someone so little could sing this well!
As the camera looks into the audience, plenty of people have tears in their eyes already.
After that, the music hits another huge swell—and it ends on a note even higher than all the rest in the song.
As with the rest of it, Beasha nails it and the crowd gets on their feet for a huge standing ovation. As the judges give their feedback, they all say that Beasha has a voice that rings out well beyond her age and stature.
As judge Simon Cowell says, her voice is so unique that it’s not something someone can train for… it’s a gift. Finally, guest judge Leno says that in his long career, a handful of moments are going to standout to him.
And one of them, he says, is going to be hitting the Golden Buzzer for her on America’s Got Talent.
With that, he smashes the buzzer and she goes wild!
Even though she was so young, it’s clear she stepped up her performance from the first round even more than most of the adult acts did.
Though it’s always a pleasure to see extremely talented people perform, it’s even more special when the people are as humble and honest as Beasha is… particularly because her voice is so amazing. Needless to say, we’re expecting some amazing things from Beasha in the future!
