If you had the chance to go to the concert of any singer or performer, whether they are still alive or not, who would you see?
Would it be Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Prince, Freddy Mercury, Elvis, or someone else?
Well, that might just be possible thanks to the music/science melding of the group Metaphysic.
Metaphysic is a “deep fake” group that uses AI technology to superimpose the likeness of anyone of their choice onto the face of someone else.
Meaning you or I could potentially have the face of anyone else in the world!
All you would need to do to get the face of Cleopatra, Betty White, or Patrick Swayze is stand in front of a camera, and the image that shows up beside you is you with their face.
The founders of this company are 2 young men named Tom Graham and Chris Ume, they wanted to show the world how exciting this technology is and decided to audition for America’s Got Talent.
They contacted a former AGT contestant, Daniel Emmet, and asked him if he would like to be a part of their work.
Daniel, who already knew about the company from their online work, jumped at the chance and couldn’t wait to get back out on the stage.
The group’s audition was an amazing rendition of “You’re the Inspiration” with Daniel singing while the screen showed that it was Simon himself who was belting out the ballad.
Very quickly, the entire audience was on their feet, everyone was shocked and amazed at the performance and the technology.
Metaphysic progressed through the next few weeks of competition until they reached the top 4.
For their performance on that night, Elvis was brought back to life.
This time they had singer Emilio Santoro sing “Hound Dog” as Elvis, and then for their second song Daniel came back as Simon to join Emilio’s rendition of “You’re the Devil in Disguise”.
And if Simon and Elvis weren’t enough, 2 women filled in as backup singers faced as Heidi and Sofia.
Again, the performance got a standing ovation from both judges and the crowd as everyone was wowed by what the group was able to accomplish.
Though the group didn’t progress past the top 4, there is no doubt we will be hearing from them again.
Many people commented on the video that they would love to see this live.
“As a lifelong Elvis fan,” wrote @adg4875, “I would certainly spend my hard-earned cash and time to go and watch this man perform an entire concert.”
Hundreds of other comments rolled in with just one word, ‘Spectacular!”.
And this is just the beginning of this incredible technology!
Who knows what else they will be able to do in the future, and who else they will be able to bring back to ‘life’?
Hopefully, this company will be able to keep expanding and adding to its ‘library of faces’ and we will be able to experience our favorite artists all over again.
