Growing old is something inevitable, but staying active and young at heart is something that one can achieve if they take care of themselves properly.

Some people just don’t look like a person their age. They reveal they’re 80 or 90 and your jaw drops by how much younger they actually look.

No, they haven’t found the elixir of youth, they haven’t traded their souls for eternal youth- or at least, that’s what we want to believe. The answer lies in the activities they do during the day and in the optimism they face life with.

In order to stay young, one simple tip is to take breaks often and relax. Every day, it is crucial to take a few minutes to close your eyes and think about things that make you happy.

Also, love is something that seems to play a vital role in our lives. Apparently, hormones that are released when our loved ones touch us, like oxytocin, relieve us from stress and anxiety, two factors that contribute to aging.

Some more tips include drinking red wine or green tea, but the most important step to take if you want your body to remain in shape while growing old is mild exercise.

Doing any kind of exercise, from yoga to Latin dances, helps us stay fit and active no matter what our age is.

That’s exactly why elderly dance classes exist in the first place.

One of the most popular dances these days is Zumba. But why should one prefer Zumba over other types of exercise?

First of all, it’s fun. I mean, who doesn’t want to enjoy workouts?

Then, it’s great for weight loss, while it also tones the entire body and boosts heart health.

Now, that’s what 88-year-old Rachel must have thought when she decided to sign up for elderly Zumba classes a few years ago.

She immediately loved her teacher and her teacher, Rina, loves her back. She had Rachel come back for class every single time without missing any of them. Rina was very proud of her.

Rachel kept attending Rina’s Zumba classes for two years straight. Then, in 2018, Rina felt the 90-year-old lady was ready to go viral. And she did.

Rina captured on video Rachel dancing to the sounds of Daddy Yankee’s Dura, and she had the YouTube community asking for more.

In the video below, you can see the elderly woman and her trainer dancing. Rachel is obviously excited about the dance and she’s following without even turning her head to the instructor’s moves.

From simple moves to… twerking, Rachel does everything the choreography asks for. It is obvious that she just loves to dance.

At the same time, Rina, the proud instructor, is showing the moves and she’s confident her student will rock them!

Indeed, Rachel effortlessly executes the choreography and she makes people crazy!

“Just because there’s snow on the roof doesn’t mean there isn’t a fire down below,” a YouTube user wrote in a poetic comment.

Others commented about how they, at a much younger age, don’t have the lady’s skill:

“Meanwhile, I’m 40 and just fell in a storage bucket and I was folded up like a sandwich and had to sit there accept my fate.”

Watch the elderly lady giving it all and enjoy!
