Darci Lynne is a well of talent that never runs dry. The precocious singer and ventriloquist is the youngest “America’s Got Talent” contestant to ever take the stage and bring home the win.
But that’s not the only place you might have seen the creative youngster.
According to her website, she’s also been seen on“America’s Got Talent: Champions,” NBC’s “Little Big Shots,” Food Network’s “Kids Baking Championship,” Nickelodeon’s “All That,” “Ellen,” NBC’s “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” and the “Today Show.
Basically, she’s a very busy girl.

The early days
Before she kicked off her national, sold-out tour in 2018 or her 2020 “Fresh Out of The Box” National Tour, which was (like so many things) interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, she was earning millions of views on YouTube.
A September 2016 video shows the young woman with her most hilarious puppet friend, Edna Doorknocker.
And let’s just say Edna is quite the flirt.
Edna is a fiery old flirt.
The first thing the puppet does is spot a cute, albeit “older”, boy in the audience.
Edna is a little sensitive about her age, after all. So much of the skit revolves around that the “old woman” can and can’t see properly. It’s quite a personality for a pre-teen to take on!
After a rendition of “You Can’t Touch This,” which refers to Edna’s cane, she invites one special audience member to touch her cane anytime.
Oh my!
Of course, the skit went viral.
The video has been viewed over 8 million times since the performance, so trust us when we say it’s worth the time.
Edna is quite the comedian and Darci Lynne has a stage presence well beyond her years.
From small stage to national stage
A 2017 video montage of her “America’s Got Talent” performances has received over 33 million clicks.
It all started with her audition.
The fact that she’s a ventriloquist immediately charms the judges’ panel and her adorable performance leaves them all – even the perpetually grumpy Simon Cowell – with smiles.
She’s got a knack for comedy.
She charmed the commenters on the video as well.
“She is the best ventriloquist I’ve ever seen. Her voice is so clear and her songs,” said a viewer.
Gaining fans
Darci Lynne seemed almost like a shoo-in after she charmed the pants off of Simon Cowell in her second performance – and she brought along Edna for the occasion.
In fact, she may have even been the first person to elicit this reaction from him, thanks in part to the puppet.
She’s got Simon’s number.
With plenty of different skits and characters, it was clear from the get-go that this was one very impressive young woman.
She hasn’t failed to impress since.
“Darci is like sunshine in a bottle. Such a positive person. If only everyone could smile as much as she does,” a commenter agreed.
And let’s be serious, anyone who can sing as a ventriloquist is pretty next-level when it comes to skill.
Speaking of next level
She can perform as 3 separate characters.
She can pull this off all in the same skit with as much talent and skill as if she were only performing as two.
While she had some tough competition that year, she managed to emerge as the winner. And we’re not a bit surprised – after all, she can sing better than we can and she doesn’t even have her mouth open!
