Just because you’re “older” doesn’t mean you’re actually old. Take Nellia and Dietmar Ehrentraut, for example.
This terrifically fun older couple from Germany hasn’t let the added years on their body or extra wrinkles on their face affect their lives one bit.
The fact of the matter is – this vivacious duo just can’t stop jivin’! And here’s the proof.
According to their website, this couple adores dances from the 40s and 50s, and they count the jitterbug, swing, and the Lindy amongst their favorites.
Make no mistake – Nellia and Dietmar don’t just dance for fun. They are in it to win it!
They’ve competed and won several dancing shows throughout their 30 plus years of groovin’ to the beats.
And just like in previous years, the couple is continuing to Rock That Swing even in 2020.
During their performance at the 2020 Rock That Swing competition, the energetic gran – assuming she is one, because, who wouldn’t want her to be their grandmother – is rocking it out with a formfitting yet totally age-appropriate dress as she swivels and sways across the stage.
The tattoo peeking out from underneath the cap sleeve is, perhaps, a reminder of her younger days. Notice I didn’t say “youthful” – because she’s already that and so much more with just her vibrant attitude alone!
As for her husband and partner of 50 years, Dietmar is sporting a head of hair so thick and full that it would probably make teenage girls – and maybe some wispy cirrus clouds – jealous.
Oh, and here’s something else that will make people jelly – just gaze upon this more-limber-than-an-Olympic-gymnast moment!
Nellia and Dietmar were married in 1970 and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, and they’ve been impressing people with their fancy footwork for almost as long.
The seniors have been a fixture on the dance circuit for ages, and just like a fine wine, they’ve gotten better with time.
One would expect that at Nellia and Dietmar’s age, which is a very admirable 67 and 73 respectively, they would be settling into life in a retirement home right about now.
Science tells us that it’s healthy for us to stay active in our golden years because it helps us live longer and much happier lives. And what better way to stay happy and active than through dance?
These dancing seniors have been lovey-dovey since they were teenagers, and the close bond they have with each other absolutely shines when they boogie-woogie on the dance floor.
As for bringing the house down with their smooth-as-butter boogie-woogie moves, the Ehrentraut’s are total naturals.
One viewer commented:
“He does that just the way a boogie should be done. And she looks so happy and full of life. What an inspiration! I’ll never complain about aches and pains again.”
Back in 2017 when the couple’s videos started going viral online, they told ABC News:
“We still have a lot of fun.”
And apparently, that hasn’t let up one bit!
